Powering my RS-10 with a GCX

ok so my RS-10 has 7 pin midi.
can I just plug a midi cable into the pedal-in on a GCX?

No. The 7 pin RS10 won't power up from the GCX which is 5 pins. From the GCX - 1/3 pins are hot for the GCX to power the RS10. The RS10 powers off pins 6/7. Call Bradshaw (if you can catch him) and he can tell you how to wire it up for pins. Bad thing about the RS10 is it has to use phantom power.

thanks for the quick reply Steve. is it just a matter of changing the end of the midi cable going to the RS10? I could just move wires wired to 1/3 to 6/7 right?
