Friends,

My mother is in the hospital again. The old gal is frail. Very frail. My sister told me "Mom isn't herself anymore". Please keep her and our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks, y'all.
Prayers for your mom, bro.

Friends,

My mother is going into hospice. The Doctor said it's time and it's what my mother wants, too. All they can do now is make her comfortable.
At best, she's got 6 months left to live. She told us to give her belongings away. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

THANK YOU FROM OUR FAMILY!

The Aaronic blessing.

I have a nice icon of the High Priest Aaron from Uncut Mountain Supply in my prayer corner except my prayer corner is more like a wall with some shelves. They make some of the nicest icons you will find.

@JackBootedThug there is a lot about you that says you are far from a failure brother. That's just your repentance talking, and that is a credit to you, not a detraction. I'm still gonna be on your case to hit up that Antiochan parish tho. How many sundays does a man get in his life? Answer: not nearly enough.
Are you an Orthodox Christian?

I have been listing to Josiah Trenham for a few years and am blessed by his wisdom and teaching. I have been considering converting from Protestantism back to being roman catholic(Baptized) or orthodoxy. Currently in a lutheran congregation as there is no where else in my small town i want go except maybe the RC Church i grew up in.

I have watched the mission parish I was baptized in explode in the past few years. Mostly young men but also whole families. The reality is you likely will have to drive a long way to attend an orthodox parish and oftentimes the priests are extremely busy, stretched thin, as there are few priests and a lot of people flooding into the church. My parish is about 20 miles, a long way for me, but several people there are driving 1-2 hours to attend.

Spyridon Bailey is another good one. This might be of interest to you.

Thank you for that. Yes, i have heard about many people converting to EO. I love the liturgy, thats why i am ay the Lutheran Church, i was in a Baptist Church and Reformed Church for a long time, it just felt like something was missing. But just like i have issues with protestants, somethings are hard for me to figure out in orthodoxy and the roman church. But it seems it comes down to the History of the Church, i cant see how Protestants ignore 1500 years of history, or at least the first 1000. It has become a free for all and you can pick and choose what you want to believe. Thats all the protestant church has become, its become a mix of EO, RC and post reformation thought to create what you want then throw in some modernism with it.

There is a lot to learn there. Consider even an EO priest doesn't know the full canon, and must consult an arch priest or bishop on some matters. So you aren't alone. I do see the EO growing for a good reason but it is also a lot more demanding than your average denomination both in the liturgical service, and as a personal practice. Feel free to message me with any questions, as this is sort of a general thread rather than a discussion on denominations. I'll do my best to give you a solid answer.

Just a big thank-you to @VonBonfire for starting this thread, especially with his announcement of leaving yesterday. Hope he changes his mind.
I'm sure many of us have found comfort in this thread, that we are not alone with our problems. For me: I received prayers here for my first great-grandson, who arrived almost 2 months early and had an extended stay in the hospital. Today I'm going to his 1st BD party, he's healthy as can be and I can thank the prayers received right here for that. Mucho Gracias OTC.

Hi, sorry to see you leave. PM me as i don't have enough posts to PM people yet. I will give you my email so we can talk more about EO.
