The Top Pocket Knives That Should Be on Your Radar

Folding knives are extremely useful tools that can be of use to just about anyone. Though most pocket knives look menacing with their sharp edge, by being a responsible and knowledgeable user, your life can be considerably easier. You can use it to cut clothing tags, cutting zip ties, shearing paper if a letter opener or a scissor is not available etc. Not to mention, the best pocket knife is the preferred self-defense tool and is an essential item to have during an emergency.

In this article, we’ll show you our selections for the top folding knives on the market in March, 2020.

1. Kershaw Blur Folding Knife

The Kershaw Blur is, from what we’ve seen, easily the best folding knife for your money right now. Kershaw as a brand is known for producing high quality pocket knives

that can hold an edge for years while still remaining at a relatively affordable price tag.

The Kershaw Blur weighs about 3.9 ounces and, when fully deployed, is 7.8 inches long approximately. The drop point blade is cast from Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel. The length of the blade is adequate for the average user and is roughly 3.3-inch long.

The entire frame of the knife is cast from 6061-T6 aluminum, which makes it a desirably lightweight while maintaining a great level of durability. So, rest assured that this knife can keep up with you no matter where you take it and whatever you use it for.

The knife is also packed with a number of safety measures, such as a thumb stud to enable assisted opening of the blade with either one or two hands. The lock mechanism in the knife will ensure that the blade always stays tucked safely inside the frame when it’s still in your pocket.

2. Benchmade 940

Just like Kershaw, Benchmade has proven itself to be a reputable brand on the market. This reputation has been more than proven with the Benchmade 940.

This knife has a 3.4-inch reverse tan-to-blade with a modified design, and the thickness of the blade is measured to be 0.114 inches. The handle of the knife is 0.4 inches thick.

When the blade is switched out, the entire blade has a measurement of about 7.8 inches long. When the blade is folded, the knife is reduced to a compact 4.47 inches. The knife weighs about 2.9-ounces, which also makes it one of

best quality pocket knives on the market.

The knife steel is S30V stainless steel, which is a highly desirable material for knife blades. It is strong enough to be able to hold an edge for a long time while it is pliable enough to be easily sharpened.

The handle is cast from 6061-T6 aluminum, with liners from stainless steel and a back spacer crafted out of titanium. The choice of materials ensures that the S30V stainless steel has excellent longevity while having an expensive, beautiful shine to it.

The knife also has a variety of safety mechanisms to make sure that it won’t harm you while you’re using it. An axis lock anchors the blade in place when it’s switched out. An ambidextrous, dual thumb stud enables you to deploy the knife from your dominant hand.

One thing that we have to complain about is the pocket clip. Although it is made from solid-looking stainless steel, the black paint will start to wear out in a couple of weeks of using.

Conclusion

And that concludes our reviews of the best pocket knives in the world

It wouldn't make sense to use a high end mic with a cheap interface, vice versa..
This is a rabbit hole I got into at one point and decided to buy some outboard preamps.

Long story short, I could've gotten way with just using the Audient.

The problem with the Focusrite 2i2 is, when running outboard preamps, the signal will still pass through the onboard preamps.
What you need is an interface that will bypass the onboard preamp and go straight into the AD/DA converter. The reason why I bought the Audient.

The nice outboard preamps make the biggest difference with dynamic and ribbon mics.
Being a high output tube mic, the Advanced Audio CM800T should sound fine through the Audient interface.

I'm just gonna say it because a lot of people look past it...

Great singers still sound great through shitty signal chains.

Your signal chain should be a function of your voice. Certain mics and preamps are more flattering to certain types of voices. Transcendent vocalists still sound great through any chain, but the right chain makes them sound heavenly. Sometimes the best investment is in voice lessons. May not apply to you, necessarily, but this type of gear is a rabbit hole that can be very hard to find true satisfaction if the vocalist is a specific person. If you're doing a studio as a business recording other people, then it's a different story.
