Cool indeed, although it seemed to have too much buzzy sounding gain for being a boosted tone. Usually a boost tightens and clears the gain up. It's like the amps gain wasn't turned down to compensate for the boost pedal used.

At any rate, I liked the Mesa and Engl cabs best.
Wasn't digging the Splawn, which surprised me actually.
Sleeper in this test was the Ampeg.

I like the Mesa, the ENGL, Framus, and the Diezel, really stands out extremely clearly.
Surprised to find I also liked the Ampeg.

The marshall and the diezel were my two favorites in the guitar only video

Mesa and Diezel were good but the Marshall was the winner. Splawn was flat out horrible. :scared:

Those Splawn clips sound like my cab did when I tried out WGS speakers.

This.

+1, because the Marshall cab makes the Soldano sound strangely Marshally, and the Diezel had by far the biggest clarity and articulation.

The marshall, and the diezel were also my two favorites in the mix video.

For me it's informative to a point, but I would dial in the amp and change mic placement on each IR to get the tone I want out of each cab. I mean if you change cabs with your head you probably dial it in a little differently to compensate/enhance what you like. So some of these might sound a lot better if dialed in individually. (I understand why they're not, but it really skews whether or not some of these IRs would work for you.)

+1  I thought the Soldano sounded good in the mix too.

Anybody else think the Hi-Watt was total ass.

Dug the Diezel in/out of the mix as well as the Krank & Ampeg cabs.

Seemed the ENGL and all the Splawn clips took on a chainsaw effect.

Marshall 1960 all the way. I also liked the Mesa a lot (and I own one).

I can say that the Eminence V12's in the Soldano cab clip really doesn't represent that speaker very well.
What I didn't like about the Splawn clips was this wash of horrible sounding mids that which sounded terrible. Maybe it was the Gov/MoW speakers? I seem to remember liking every Small Block clip I've heard in Splawn cabs....
The Texas Heats in the Krank cab has this high end fizz I didn't like, but it works in a mix. I wouldn't want that with a 6505 though since you get that sound from that amp already.
Amps and pickups change our perception of a speakers voice anyways. So you have to take this demo with grain of salt. (Damn I hate cliches)
