Thinking about selling my 2017 fully loaded Splawn Quickrod with footswitch and all. It's in near mint shape, what would be a fair price for it?

I sold mine, 2017 fully loaded, for $1200 about 18 months ago. I would add $300 to that and list it at $1,500 since everything has gotten more expensive. At $1,200 you'd probably sell it within a couple days.

1K to $1250 range in your case with what it is and condition, etc.

$1200 seems fair $1500 is the absolute top though imho.

Scott should really get more for his amps. American made multi channel amp but we can't even get an 800 reissue in the u.s. new for less than 2800

Keeping in mind that literally EVERYTHING is more expensive now than it was a little over a year ago, I'd say $1500 should be your starting price and be willing to take $1300. $1000-1200 was fair pricing before the world changed.

I’m seeing used 80’s 2203/4’s at average 2.5G. Crazy! I remember back when these where in the $700-$900 range. Part of that is inflation, but those amps have also become very desirable classics at this point. The “lore” around them has reached maximum, it seems.

Are you saying new, or used? New, I feel like they are fairly priced. But, in the used market they take a beating. Not really sure why, as they are great amps and I'm surprised they don't hold their value better. I think it's because Splawn doesn't have the name recognition that many of the others do. But, I have a feeling that Scott likes it that way. At least in my opinion. I've bought a new fully loaded QR from Scott last year for ~$2300 shipped to my door and I'll die with that amp. Mainly because it's a great amp, but also because the resale value on them is just stupid and unless I'm in a position where I really need the money, I won't willingly take a bath on it if I ever tried to resell it. Not to mention Scott's customer service is second to none, and I like the lifetime warranty you get with a new purchase as well.

That being said, I've taken advantage of the market and bought a used Nitro for ~$800 shipped to my door too. So, there's that.. LOL

I bought my used 2005 QuickRod five years ago for $1k. I have since purchased a new headshell and a 212 cab for it. Though some days I honestly think about ditching it to go back to Mesa Marks. But the prices on those have gone stupid...lol!

What people are asking and what they're getting are 2 different things. So many are getting caught up in the price hikes, and in many cases, ridiculous asking prices these days, referring to them as "what they're going for". I've seen things on Reverb sit for over a year with these "going for" prices.

Unfortunately, Splawns do lose value pretty quick, which makes them a great buy on the used market. I bought my last new one from Scott at a bargain price, (someone bailed on an order), but I still took a $500 hit when I sold it.

id say sell now, ive already seen prices coming way down locally and even saw some what would be killer deals even pre-covid.

I think i'll list it for $1375 shipped later on today.

BTW - what are the cosmetics for this amp - Plexi style? JCM? Color?
