Theres one for $400 on the Houston craigslist and I thought that one was high!!

Once people get them and realize they aren’t that good they’ll drop back down

Honestly they are awesome in the right application... but that pricing is insane. A couple did sell for $500 or $600 before the $1k+ listings went up though so somebody paid it

I mean they are cool, but even the original price point was high. I bought one and I had my VFE standout replicating it in about 2 minutes, and sounded cleaner. Also the koko boost makes it sound like a toy. I don’t get why people would want to make their amp sound drastically different, and every video clip I’ve heard besides like Killertones, sounded scratchy and thin

This.

Tbh I thought it was a horrible pedal. Tried to force myself to like it but no way.

The only way I could get it sounding halfway decent was to purposely dial my amp to sound like shit. Maybe like someone posted, with the right application it could work but I can't imagine even wanting to own that kind of amp.

Maybe for 10 string guitars? Idk.

Didn't care about waiting to make a dollar. Maybe I should have but I sold it asap. I would not have been ok with myself making a huge profit off something I thought was so bad.

Exact experience I had with the 33 - setup my amp to sound like shit and add the 33 for a good metal tone. I got rid of mine as fast as I could. Way over priced pedal.

The 33 isn’t going to work with every amp but when it does it’s awesome. Seems to work well with Mesa Boogie amps. Not so much with Marshall’s.

Cool... still not worth overcharging for one

With a mesa it shines big time. It will take a crappy triple rectifier and tighten it up real nice plus it is very vocal and cutting in the mix. My 2 channel dual rec is modded to be tight so not as drastic on that one although I will keep it in my gcx loop for chug chug time. Did not care for it as much on my other amps that were already super tight. Made them sound tiny compared to my koko.

This has also been my experience. It's really great with my mark iic+ but terrible with my ccv (all my od pedals are though) and not so good with my Cameron modded Marshalls either

I was gassing for one to juice up my old JCM800 after watching Ola's video, but ended up moving the JCM800 so there goes that.

But yeah the prices are out of control for it, but the Zuul is great and I don't regret what I spent on it

I have the ZUUL and the 33. Great pedals. With the prices of the 33? Maybe I should put it out there as a trade for a Les Paul. :D All kidding aside. The 33 really does shine with my Rev F.

Airis Savage Drive. Does the same thing and much more. I like it much better than the 33.

The Savage Drive is definitely a lot more versatile (the 33 is very specific), but I disagree that it can do what the 33 can (it can get close I guess, but not close enough for me). I sold my Savage since I had other pedals that outdid what I liked about it, but the 33 has been a keeper for me and unmatched so far in its very specific voicing

Oh boy. Yeah, we noticed this. Good on them I guess, pretty crazy people are getting $500-600 for them. This wasn't what we were going for though. Fredrik just wanted it to be a limited thing so not everyone would have them. Guess we should try to get him to let us do more.

Nope. I've owned just about every pedal mentioned in this thread, including the Koko, and none them do what the 33 does. The Koko has more tone options, of course, but it can't nail the 33 tone.

Scarcity and name recognition drives up prices. The original TS808s are meh pedals. I bought one in '81 for $45 and sold it ten years ago or so for $550. It still sounded average, but it had the SRV stamp of approval. Whatever.

I think you should respect Fredrik’s reasoning and let the pedal stay limited. That’s what makes it special/hated.

I don't for see it happening unless it is to just burn off some spare parts, and even then it would be barely any. Not a single doubt in my mind we could sell a bunch more. Have 8-10 emails a day trying to buy it, damn near every day, but yeah, he just wants it to be a cool thing that not everyone has. I guess this is the inevitable result of that.

Either way, glad to see most people digging it and not many for sale.
