Price check...value of a Mesa Tremoverb?

Have a guy wanting to trade me for my LP valued at $2k. I know they have gone up but I think not that much?
 
All the big hype over rectifier revisions has driven all the amps in that family up a ton on the last 6-8 months. Like just awareness of the letter revisions that no one cared about a year ago has boosted prices. Until recently it was just "Pre 500" and everything else for 2 channel rectifiers. Looks like a handful of tremoverbs have sold in that range on Reverb recently and others have gone for less.

I haven't played a Tremoverb I like better than a Multiwatt, or the Rev F I had.
Tremoverbs were going for $800-1000 not too long ago, and can still be had for $1100+ if you look hard enough. I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for one, ever.
 
If you're concerned about value def don't get a combo. You'll never get rid of it for the value this guy is putting on it.

If you get it I’ll trade you. It matches my cab. There is a reason these have three handles on them. It weighs a ton.
 
You'll need to find out if it has a series or parallel loop and if it has Schumacher transformers. The early ones with the series loop and Schumachers are worth more. For one of those I'd say $1800-$2.2k depending on how bad a buyer wants it. For just a straight up normal tremoverb combo, $1500.

It is also my favorite version of the rectifier line, even after owning a rev D. At least the one I own is. If it's a regular version, I'd just take a Multiwatt for the same price.
 
I have one with a serial loop and the Rev F power transformer. Straight up beast of an amp. The combo is shockingly heavy. Like they hid bricks in it.
 
Just look at the price two channel Rectifiers are going for from the 90's. It's going to be about the same amount.

You can't go by what they sold for last year at all. The market has completely shifted on everything. Price is all over the place now on Rectifiers.

Even those prices are somewhat misleading. I suspect that the ones selling for under $1500 were sold within minutes of posting to Reverb, which would indicate they are underpriced compared to what the market expects.
 
There's a clean Tremoverb in Houston for $1050.
I found a Triple Rec MW for $1300.
I might have to jump on that.
There's a couple of Rectoverb 25 combos local as low as $875.

My point being, Reverb prices do not reflect local or other shops prices.
 
If you are patient enough you’ll find one for a better price. 4-5 months ago there was an early T-verb head at a Music Go Round, $999. Had a home brew headshell but it was a super early one with the D board and early loop. I had just bought a Triple F or I would’ve snagged it.

Agree
Reverb is only a small part of the market.
