Prince Smashes Borrowed Guitar On Fallon

i live in MN and have talked to a couple of people that have worked with him. he is not a bad person but he is completely insane, he will call people at 3am demanding that they get him something, or fix something for him, then he doesnt even use it. but he cant even comprehend why it is wrong or how it could hurt someone. he called one guy i know in the middle of the night and insisted that the his bathroom needed to be cleaned right then, that it couldnt wait until the next day. there was no crazy mess or anything. then he would throw a fit at random and fire you, call you back later and rehire you, then permanently fire you, oh yes, at random. all of that is hearsay of course, i have no reason not to believe it though. its possible that he had no clue, if this was not staged, that there was anything wrong with what he did at the time. OR it could be that he knows hes prince, that he can do what ever he wants and this has all been a facade that hes kept up for a couple of decades. hes probably bi-polar, lol.

no matter what, if he threw my main guitar like that and it broke, i wouldnt be to happy. and i dont buy into the "hes sold more records/is a better musician than me so he can do what he wants" thing

he is my favorite live performer though

Yup.....Love Prince. Have at least....4 of his Cd's....guy can crank on the Axe....writes great songs.
But The world is not his Oyster...and he cant go around breaking others things. I doubt it was staged. He has nothing to prove or show. I would be pissed....and I am sure he will pay to replace it. Again....wouldnt let him play my guitars. He should have his own ready to go. ;)
 
Guy did that to my guitar I would throw him such a beating he would never play guitar or eat solid food again.

Wow my first post on this forum and I just find half the responces mind boggling, genius and great player aside that was a total douchebag move! Then to boot guys are trying to justify by downing the guitarist on Fallon as if he is a nobody so that makes it right. Well how many guys have a gig playing in a house band on a talk show? You better believe you have to be a hell of a player to land a gig like that as they are pretty rare which still has nothing to do with treating someones guitar like that. Say it was his #1 for the last decade or longer I doubt he gives a shit about Prince buying him a new one as mostly everyone here should know some guitars you just would never replace. Watch the clip of Prince at the R&R Hall of Fame playing the solo on While my Guitar Gently Weeps with his Hohner Tele he has had for ages. He throws the guitar straight up about 8 feet in the air when he finished, and you bet your ass his roadie was right there waiting to catch it. Then someone wants to bring of all people Paul Stanley of KISS into this lmfao! I saw Kiss 4 times back in the 70's and God only knows what it cost them to put on that insane stage show, but Stanley would walk off stage and comeback with some cheap ass budget guitar to smash-Townshend he was not. Forum member benduncan is on the money with what he was told about Prince as my brothers girlfriends cousin worked for him and I heard similar insane stories from him, as well as his staff could not look him in the face when they talked to him. Definite Napoleon complex with that twit lol.
 
Some of you guys really lack empathy. I don't know if it was staged or not, but if it wasn't, that was one of the most dickheaded things I've seen recently. I don't care who the fuck you are, you don't break other people's shit.

I'm with Danyeo in that I've heard how awesome a guitar player Prince is seemingly FOREVER and yeah, he can play but I haven't seen the amazing stuff others do. Furthermore I didn't see the video but good for Prince. Smashing that POS is totally metal. I'm throwing up the horns right now. It's just a shame no kitties were hurt as a result of the smashing of that guitar. That would throw him over the top cuz Prince needs to do something new.
