Problem with new M4..

First off, my first M4 works great, no problems at all using CC commands and Instant Access switches. I just received my second M4, which I bought from Frank at Amp Lounge. It's brand-new, as he said they just came from the factory. Both M4's are each in a separate loop. The first M4 is on midi ch2, the new second M4 is on midi ch3.

The new M4 is also being controlled with CC commands and Instant Access switches. Unfortunately, the new M4 is acting funny. When I first power up the rig, the new M4 will light up chA of slot1, and then it never shuts off, no matter what other channel/slot of the I switch to.

Please help guys, as quickly as you can - Gotta be functioning this weekend !! :(

Try setting the dip switches on the rear the same as your first M4 and verify it works the same. Be aware if you change a dip switch setting, you must turn the power off and back on for the M4 processor to "read" the change. If you verify it works the same, reset the dip switches for your alternate midi channel, turn the power off and back on. Report back ASAP.

You gotta just love Egnater's support--replying ASAP on a Friday night.
Hope everything works out for you Klark...

True but I wouldn't hold that against him. His is a larger operation. It wouldn't be realistic to think he could respond personally. I mean we're all fans of Bruce's work but let's not be unrealistic.

Thank you Bruce for replying so fast. Sorry I didn't get back quick enough before you left for the weekend.. Luckily I found a work-around. What I've basically figured out is, unless the M4 receives a PC or CC command after powering up, it defaults to slot 1 channel A. Luckily, when I fire up my entire rig, my Liquid-Foot takes about two seconds to boot up. That two seconds is enough time for both M4's to settle on slot 1 channel A. Then, my Liquid-Foot fires off the last PC or CC that I stepped on before shutting the rig down. So, as a work around, I've programmed in a hidden OFF command for the 2nd M4, that kinda lives underneath each off the ON commands for the 1st M4. That way no matter what, the 2nd M4 is OFF unless it's asked be ON. There, clear as mud!

It works, but kind of a bummer because the hidden off command does add a minuscule amount of extra unnecessary delay, but whatever, it's better than not working at all !!

Thank you again for the awesome customer service !!!

Now I'm a little confused. All of our products do default to module 1/channel A at turn on. Not sure why that was an issue. Of course you would need to send a CC off (0) command once a module is on. Please explain what the dilemma was. Also, CC 64 is the "all mute" command if that is helpful..

Use the button on the M4 and toggle through the modules. Does slot 1 ch a stay on then? Use the button to program/save the midi channel ur on. if you save it to a midi channel /effect that is set up with another module then both modules will come on. Program each module/Ch to a seperate midi number slot 1 ch a #1 ch b #2 slot 2 ch a #3 ch b #4 and so on. I have the 2 M4's assigned to 2 differant banks on my GCX and guess that your foot controller would be close to the same. just match up the dip switches with the midi channel on your pedal. when I did mine as I programed the M4 with effects I would put the other M4 on #65 so none of the modules would light up/turn on. I also have each M4 in a loop on the gcx M4 loop1 m4 loop2 Mod50 loop3. hope that helps.
