Armageddon (Chris Amott side project, very awesome)
Arsis (prog death-ish)
Disarmonia Mundi
Divinity (ENDITOL's band)
Into Eternity (The Scattering of Ashes is killer)
great bands though I personally wouldn't consider any of them prog except maybe Into Eternity. hey killer tone have you heard the other into eternity albums i though scattering was weak compared to the others, awesome guys they crashed at my other guitar players house a few times...
Oh BTW gigp80 have you heard porcupine tree, animals as leaders, periphery, the new cynic record traced in air, I Repress, some more bands to check out you may like.
If you consider IE prog then most of the others I listed would have to be included by default!I did not dig the last IE album near as much as The Scattering of Ashes, I haven't listened to it in a long time though so maybe I will revisit that.
Everyone chill out on the genre nazi-ism! I said "in the vein of prog" in my list, sheesh!![]()

I didn't mean to rip you I just didn't think they were really prog. no vocal inflection on these damn boards!![]()
I'm stupid BTW and got the into eternity albums mixed up. the scattering of ashes is my favorite also, its the newest one I was referring to whatever its called, kind of weak.
No worries! I think technical metal can sometimes be referred to as prog even though the two are pretty different.
