It’s always been strange to me that they gave that gun the M4 designation when that was already taken by a very popular rifle.

The designation I give it is the M1014. Because in the un neutered version it is exactly the same gun.
What's strange to me is that I REALLY want one, even though my Beretta outclasses it in every category except felt recoil. Which means very little since the Beretta essentially has none either. Of course the fact that the Beretta cycles 37% faster than the Benelli is kind of irrelevant as well since no human can outrun the action on the M4.

Likewise the popular rifle you referred to in your earlier post, the M4, is a military designation, not a manufacturer designation. The original manufacturer designation is AR-15. Armalite Rifle-15.

I knew about AR being Armalite Rifle, but aside from the KSG and my 870 MM, I haven’t really delved into the tactical shotgun world. I have a bunch of shotguns but they are mostly hunting shotguns I got for hunting or they were handed down to me.
Single shots, double barrels, over/unders, and pumps. Winchesters, Remingtons, Mossbergs, Savages and a Revalation made by Savage that my dad gave me.
My wife has a Mossberg tactical 20 gauge that’s a slightly smaller frame and she loves it.
I built her a killer AR but she thinks ARs are boring..
