Swapping EL34's to 6550's in my Soultone 1986ps amp.
She for-warned me to check and dial back the bias on the EL34's
because if you just put in the 6550's where the amp is bias'd for the EL34's,they will red plate.
I cut the bias back to 10mA. Put in the 6550's,and sure as shit,they smacked the multi meter at 85mv.
If she would not have told me this,I'd be stuck with burnt out power tubes.
Maybe the rest of the world knew about this,but non the less,
