So after a few shit bag comments I thought I would clarify the truth about this amp.

I've owned it for a few months. Reamped our new cd w it...along w Herbert ! A+
Played out many shows live with Archon! A+
Practice w it in band setting! A+
Practice alone at quiet settings! A+

Ch1 clean... Out of this world. Had a jazz guitarist actually play thru mine and was thoroughly blown away how it sounded n responded. It's just gorgeous clean. Warm n full.

Ch2 gain. Oh how the gain knob truly goes mild to wild. Has a terrific sweep to it. Leads just jump off fretboard it has that "no fight" feel. Liquid pleasure. Rhythms are brutal. We are metal so I will comment on how it responds quick n rips your fkn face off. It just pushes hard n the bass/depth respond is amazing. Tried with several guitars and pick up combos. The attack on the amp is fast.

It's not noisey. It's far from messy. Yes it is like a modded up truly refined recto/uber in a way. No flub. No fizzle. The Mids cut thru live amazing. Two guitarists in the band. And archon stood n blended well w my Herbert. No it doesn't sound like a Diezel it does have a great boutique amp tone. It's loud as hell !

Ps I'm a lil sad to hear Fokker is close to Herbert. That closed it for me. Def don't want to amps that are even remotely close. I already have Herbert. It still reigns king.

I've heard some decent clips, but it sounds too compressed from what I've heard for my individual tastes. Just saw alterbridge a few weeks back and he had one on stage with a Mesa,and an uber.
It was a terrible live guitar tone! Monster truck opened and kicked ass with I believe a Morris then it sounded like tremonti's rig was covered up in comparison. Tight but muffled as fuck with ZERO cut.
Who knows what he actually used?

wonder if Emil Werstler will be using one - his playing always impressed me, he was using a Shiva 20th and Mesa Recto, heavy heavy tone but articulate and of course his soloing is out of this world

This could be one of those heads that needs the right cab. One guy plays through a Marshall cab, sounds bad, another through different cabs, sounds great. I've had heads like that.

cab and speakers are a huge part of sound obviously. so who knows, but remember one person's holy grail amp might be some other guys turd amp

I'm interested to play an Archon though...especially with the price point, some places discounting to $1500

I think Tremonti is just trying to be a good company man lol. I don't think he actually uses it but rather sits it on top of his rig for looks.

He was in PRS commercial and raved about it but i knew he wouldn't replace his normal gear.

Bought an Archon on a whim because I'm a PRS lover. Im with Cujo on this one. This amp is awesome. Very unique sound, and Im a huge fan of the light/dark switch, really opens/closes the amp.

I own an Archon and really like the amp. I made a couple youtube vids, one sounds shitty because of the iphone mic but the second one I used the Tascam mic for my iphone and sound quality was much better. I've played it trough a Bogner 4x12 with v30's and a Friedman 4x12 with v30's and GB's, it's sounds great with both cabs.
