I've had this little amp for a little bit now. Just know you guys get tired of all the NAD threads I have so I just thought I would play it for you a bit. Going through a Rhodes/KSR vertical 2X12 loaded with Celestion NEO Creambacks. Sounds pretty decent to my ears. Guitar is an SG loaded with Fishman Moderns.

I don't feel the amp is loud enough for the band. It gets loud but it needs just a bit more. Raf and I discussed this and he feels it's my Fishman pickups because his amp is plenty loud for him with his other non fishman equipped guitars. YMMV

Anyway it's a cool little amp. You can see my settings in the beginning of the vid.

It sounds very mid cut. The tone overall sounds very good but I just don't know how it would sound in a mix. I think it for sure sounds good for the price though, for home playing.

It sounds mean as hell in both of y’alls vids. I would have to see a 15 watt head hang with a drummer in a metal setting.

Thanks for checking it out. I did drop the mids a bit for this vid. I'm going to compare my Uberschall rev green with this PRS today and make a quick clip since I was asked to do so. :D

Thanks man! I personally think they need to make this head a 50W then it will hang easily in a band setting.

Isn't the volume of this amp in a band context irrelevant considering the museum collection of fine full size heads that abound ;)

Smart ass comments aside, it sounds nasty as usual man

All this did was remind me that I want an Archon. I had a 100 watter at an even $1000 slip through my fingers a few months back!

This sounds good, I just want the headroom of its bigger brother.

I had one, and it IS killer. As wicked as it sounds, and it does sound wicked, I sent it back. For a 15 watt lunchbox, it can't be beat IMO. But if it's sitting on top of 50/100 watters as it was in my case, they'll sound bigger and badder every time and kind of defeat the purpose of it. For a sole practice amp, or say, a small amp to enjoy in a room other than your main gear room, it's unbeatable. Killer, grinding tone, sweet clean channel, and a very loud 15 watts. I honestly think PRS knocked it out of the park, especially at the price. But as far as playing with a drummer, you'd be much better off with at least a 50 watt. The PRS has a sweet spot volume wise (up to noon if I remember correctly), but when it's surpassed, and it would be to hang with a moderately hard hitting drummer, it looses much of it's low end and gets a mid hump, whereas a 5153 50 watt for the same price used, would be roaring at the required volume. But the PRS IS ONLY 15 WATTS, so it is what it is. If you're gigging with the PRS and can depend on some help from the monitors, it would totally work. I'd love to get my hands on a MT-50, hopefully it'll happen one day. All that being said, the MT-15 is without question a wicked little tone beast.

That clip sounds killer!

Have you guys tried it through more efficient speakers? Maybe those couple of extra dB's that could push it into band volumes. Neo Creambacks sound great, not to say they're bad or anything, but they're pretty inefficient, aren't they?

Also, is it cathode biased? What 6L6's does it come stock with? There were some 6L6's that have been noticeably louder than others in my Krank with the same volume settings.

HAHAHA, you are correct. It is irrelevant to me anyway. Just people have asked and commented and we have conflicting opinions. But that's just like anything else guitar related.  At the end of the day I don't care because I have some big iron to get the job done. But it dies have a good tone to my ears.
