I have a guitar that I absolutely love, but not really sold on the pickups. I have a couple PRS guitars the HFS Vintage Treble/Bass in there and love them, but I have also heard nothing but great things about the 59/09s. For those of you who have used both, is it worth the extra $$ to get the 59/09s or stick to the HFS Vintage Treble/Bass?

To each their own opinion, but I had the HFS in my old CE (bolt-on) PRS and they sounded alright.

I have the 59/09's in my Dirty 100 and they sound incredible. So versatile and coil-split well. Different guitar, so results may vary. These are my favorite passive pickups.

I like several PRS pickups (57/08s, 59/09s, DGTs, Tremontis), but I'm not a huge fan of the HFS/VB.

I'd upgrade.

Pickup advice is a crapshoot. Every guitar will contribute to the sound almost as much as the pickup itself.
I have a 09 custom 22 that came stock with the HFS/VB and i proceeded to change them out for the Dragon 2's which are my fav in 22's.
Bottom line is it didnt work. Way too dark while they sounded perfectly balanced in my '99 CU 22.
Put back in the HFS and everything sounds better.
Ive come to just trust PRS and their pickup selections honestly

Oh, this is for a Music Man JP-6, not a PRS. I just always liked the sound of the PRS guitars way more than the MM's. I just like the way the MM plays, but want it to sound like a PRS.

I'd mostly agree, with a HUGE exception with the #6/#7 on the SC Trem and Singlecuts. I've owned a LOT of PRS SCs, and never liked those stock pickups.
