The new 2012 models have a slight carve top, no where near as awesome as the US model but much better than the flat top models. The neck carve is different too, more comfortable, IMO, not as thick. It also sports a three way switch with a push pull tone knob that splits the coils which the older models only had a five way switch so you get a little more versatility out of it.
It's one of the best guitars I've ever owned. My local shop does a set up before they hit the floor and I haven't had to tweak it in any way, I barely have to tune it. It holds up really well. I think the biggest drawback is that the cosmetic look of the rosewood is inconsistent. Some people don't like it, I think it adds character.
Overall score? I got mine for @ $700, it was one of the first to hit the market, so I think you can find them for less now. But at the price point, you can't beat it. At any price point, it'll give you a run for the money. Great, great guitar.
