It arrived a few days ago, and I've been playing it non-stop since.

This guitar is so simple in appearance, but it's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
It plays perfectly out of the box.
Extremely low action with no fret buzz.
I haven't had to adjust anything other than to tune it.
And that's after it travelled halfway across the world from the US to Australia.
Impressive!

It has a fantastic unplugged tone that is very loud and resonant.
I'd have to say it's got the best unplugged tone out of all my guitars.
And its the cheapest too.

The stock pickups are pretty damn good.
Not quite my style because I prefer to run my amp's gain low and hit the front-end hard with hot pickups... but when the amp's gain is increased, these things really scream.
Their low output makes for great for clean tones too.
Having said all that though, I'm still going to change them for the BG Hellabucker and BG Custom Hot 13k.
I need higher output pickups for my preferences.

The PRS SE Korina has gone straight to the top of my faves list - right alongside my Ibanez PGM301.
I'm selling 2 of my other guitars to fund some more PRS SE's.
This guitar's bang-per-buck is better than my Edwards guitars.
I'm seriously impressed.

Here's some pics...

HNGD :D

I like the way those models look. Classy, not over the top with abalone etc, but still like it can pack some punch.

Nice score  Those are hard to beat for the price. I bet it will be fantastic with those pups you chose. Would love to hear a korina model equipped with those  Dont be discouraged when the PRS naysayers come in and tell you how crappy they are

Nice - very interesting about the resonance, beautiful guitar as well- looks like a regular 1200-1500$ axe.

Are the tones fat and warm or fat and twangy?

I'd love to have a set neck Strat in that wood, but everybody thinks Strats have to be bolted necks.............and we don't want to stray too far from the 1950s until when- 2145 ?

Looks like the upper fret access is better on these than a regular LP. If that's the case, I'm gonna have to check one out! HNGD!

I actually returned the Carvin I bought because it was fucking bright as hell, and am actually buying TWO PRS SE's for the same price. One of them will be this Korina, the other the Mushok baritone.

I can't wait. I played the Korina through an Egnater 30 combo at GC, and damn near wet myself. Amazing guitar for chump change.

I too want more though, perhaps the Tremonti in natural gloss, or the SC trem.

Kinda both, actually. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're twangy, but they have a mid range pop to them that mahogany doesn't have, while maintaining the mahogany warmth.

Yeah I really like the simplistic style of this model.
And it has a fantastic punchy and full tone that I think is going to sound crushing with the BG Pickups.
I don't know if I got lucky or what, but I'm going to be purchasing a few more of the SE Singlecuts after my experience with this one.

Couldn't agree more, man.
And nothing can faze me from my love affair with this thing.
I've never had a guitar just fit me like a glove more-so than this SE Singlecut.
The Wide-Fat neck is the best neck I've ever run my fingers across.

And to be honest, I wasn't expecting too much in terms of quality, playability and tone.
It was just going to be a cheap & fun beater to take to work every night-shift and throw some BG pickups in until I could scrum up the cash for another Edwards LP.

BTW... I'm no longer getting the Edwards LP.

Yup I can't believe how cheap these are.
The tone is rich and warm but still snappy with some added musical zing in the mids.
Really tight lows as well.

Man I'm playing fast snappy lead lines better on this guitar than any other I've owned apart from the PGM301.
The neck is just perfect for my hands.
And the 9's just match up so well with the guitar's scale and construction.
They feel like heavier strings - they don't feel remotely springy like 9's normally do on my Edwards, Ibby or other superstrat type guitars.
And the light-weight makes it extremely comfortable to play for extended periods.
You'd hardly believe you're holding a guitar.
I'm blown away.

This description is spot-on!
And that's the thing huh.... I can free up some cash or get 2 of the SE's for the price of one of my other guitars I'm selling.
Amazing value.

The natural Tremonti looks killer.
I looked for one everywhere online but couldn't find one.
If I manage to find one, I'm certainly going to grab it.

I went and ordered the Akerfeldt sig instead.
The specs on the Akerfeldt are exactly what I'm looking for (24 jumbo frets, ebony fretboard, Wide-Fat maple neck, mahogany/maple body, satin-finish on rear of neck).
I just have to live with the Opeth symbol on the body though, and pull the trem-arm out and make sure the bridge is down real tight with extra springs.

Post up and let us know how the Akerfeldt is when you get it. That one looks hot too.

Actually, I may get the Akerfeldt sooner if it's only $650. For some reason I thought it was close to a grand. The Korina and Mushok are a sure thing for this week, provided Carvin refunds my damn money!

Its weird that they call the neck "wide-fat", its really not very wide, or very fat, I agree, they feel great

The SE's really are nice. There's 3 I'd like to get - the MM baritone, a mahogany p-90, and the Torero(sp?) with the Floyd.

SE's are top notch for the dollar guitars - totally solid, play, sound and feel great.

My uncle used to play electric guitar when he was younger, but hasn't really played guitar in years and if so, only on an acoustic.
Now in his 50s he decided he wanted to start again, and although I haven't played one of these myself, I had heard good things, so told him to get one of these. He should have it by tomorrow and I will get to play it friday, and I'm looking forward to being impressed.
Your postings have just confirmed what I already thought was a good deal.
