Hello fellow RT'ers! :)

I just purchased a 2007 Prs Tremonti and would like to put a Suhr Aldrich p/u in the bridge. This Tremonti has the tremolo bar. Would I get the 50mm or 53mm spaced p/u? First I thought the 50mm because it's a Les Paul style guitar....But, it has a tremolo bar , so then I thought a 53mm...

Already spoke to Suhr and they were unsure....and I can't get a human on the phone at Prs..

Any help would be great! Guitar arrives Thursday.

Thank you!!

i believe being a trem model, it would require the 53mm spaced pickup

measure the distance between the 1st and 6th strings.

have you played the tremonti pickup before? i love it personally. never played an aldrich though. either way excellent choice on guitar. you'll love it!

The Tremonti Treble is by far my favorite passive pickup. It taps quite nicely as well.

PRS uses F-spaced (53mm) pickups in the bridge (due to the trem), and standard spaced (50mm) in the neck. That's what was spec'ed by Tim at Bare Knuckle and Jim at WCR when I was cycling pickups on my PRS. You will also want to specify the "short" legs. Conductor number is 2 or 4 wire based on the type of pickup control you have. My PRS has a 5-way blade which requires a 4-conductor wire.

I am surprised that the folks at Suhr didn't have this info...

Both are good pickups. The Aldrich provides more definition when playing a chord. With a humbuckers magnetic field being pretty wide it seems that the spacing wouldn't be all that critical.

Hey Guys! Thanks for all your help! Got an email from PRS. 50mm spaced on my 2007 Tremonti w/ a trem.

Thanks again!
Mark

I would give the Tremonti Bridge pickup a fair shake first. I've owned both, and I prefer the Tremonti to the Aldrich.
