Rarely see these for sale used, is it just because no one sells them or because theres not that many out there? How do these compare to the SC's? Seems these have a thicker mahogany back.

I'm not sure how many were ever ordered. What I heard was that PRS dealers were not terribly eager to carry a $2400 gutiar that appealed primarily to highschool students. I'm guessing the ratio of merchandise damaged to guitars sold was unattractive :D

Now that Tremonti's fans are older and they changed the guitars to look more like a conventional PRS singlecut I see more dealers carrying them.

I would have never considered one before because of that gaudy inlay on the 12th fret, but with the new revamp and for the specs it seems like a pretty cool guitar, just have to replace the Trussrod cover :)

The tremonti's are great guitars. I wish they had the Tremonti II in a stop tail. I'd definitely get one. I love the SC250s though. The Tremonti is similar to the SC250, but with the trem, wide-thin neck and a little thicker on the body.

Yeah, the 12th fret "underwear label" was a deal killer for a lot of folks. The new ones are basically just a SC250-Trem with a hot bridge pickup. Which I could certainly be down with.

Tremonti II is awsome, i have one and used it for a gig over the weekend and i was telling my brother how much i liked it, over the years i owned a dozen prs and honestly the tremonti is my favorite model. I dont see many for sale and most of the people i know that have one love it, erock has 2 of them.

in comparing the singlecut vs the tremonti goes, in my opinion they are equally awesome just a little different. sc has stoptail. tremonti II has tremolo. sc's have wide fat neck. tremonti II has wide thin (aka pattern thin for 2011). if i was going to have one guitar it would be the sc bc of the stoptail and just change the bridge pickup to a tremonti. it's too hard to change tunings for me with a tremolo bridge and i change tunings all the time. totally a matter of opinion. Both are awesome though!

I just got a Tremonti treble PUP that I'm about to install in my 20th Anniversary Singlecut.

No,no,Tremonti2 is not like a SC250.The SC250 is chambered, the TR2 is solid like the original SC.The (T)WT neck is a bit fatter than the usual WT,feels real nice :D !The trussrod cover was already a BR RW on mine... The trem is up-routed:can go up and down.Neck pup is covered. It's a fantastic guitar !

If Tremonti is really using his signature guitar on all of his recordings, then it sounds amazing.

I'd go for it :)

it's not chambered like the sc250 or sc245 but it obviously has a massive empty spot for the trem. if you want a sc that is completely solid body minus the spot for electroics, you'd have to go to early 2006 sc models and earlier or a tremonti I which i would never get b/c of the horrible 12 fret inlay. what could PRS possibly have been thinking when they did that?!

love the tremontis, 25" scale, wide thin neck, bit thicker, non chambered, hot bridge pup, great trem, etc... They are killer if you like singlecuts and need a tremolo. The PRS trems are really nice too, hardened steel, stay in tune like a floyd, but feel like a vintage trem. Great guitars IMO.
