PSA: If you're gigging and you smell smoke...

Was thinking maybe it was my amp going on the fritz but it smelled like weed. Didn't know what was happening cause I haven't smelled weed coming from an amp since the 90's. Amp sounded fine so I was having a hard time figuring out what was going on. Then on break I realized they had a vending machine that sold pre rolled joints and buds by the gram on the porch of a pretty high brow venue. It looked like a soda machine with a giant I-phone on the front. So someone else at the venue must've had an amp that smelled like weed, not mine, and it was wafting past my microphone.

Just saying if you're at a gig and you think your amp might be melting down check for that before you freak out on stage and embarrass yourself.

I think the Delta 9 stuff is but pretty sure they are making it illegal later this year. Not sure how that is gonna play out. I went down to MS and the other guy in the band had to make a pit stop at a roadside store and he came out with some joints in a foil package like they were swisher sweets. I guess I'm still in the old world mindset and freak out when I see a car with a roof rack on it behind me at night. :LOL:
 
It's very legal out here ...... but I haven't seen a vending machine yet ...

I just go to the dispensary now .... and get stuck in line behind some dude with tan pants that always asks " will this strain make me hungry ??? ... what about sleep ... will this help me sleep " ??

meanwhile my OZ was ordered online 4 hours ago ...... fuckin Newbs

I had to look at the vending machine for a while. It didn't seem real. Once they made the Delta 9 legal on the rare occasion I smoke I still usually look around and check for cops or nosy snitches first. Nothing makes sense anymore. All this stuff to choose from. Pilsner, lager, pale ale, stout, etc etc "what kind do you want?" "The cold one". I think I need to get back to 1985. :LOL:

The cig machines got removed from a lot of places but they can still be found in barrooms. There are still bars around here that allow smoking cigs indoors but they are few and far between and generally located in rural locations. The weed vending machine only took credit cards. That didn't strike me as a good idea but people were smoking it openly on the porch outdoors apparently.

Weird, unless you were in Austin, where people used to just kind of walk around openly smoking. Always freaked me out kinda to see it. Very odd.

I gotta buddy in Austin who used to smoke joints and pipes right on stage during his set and that was back before anything was legal. He is kind of a crazy dude. Mad talented though. He always got away with it, lol.

I'm not sure what it is actually. All that weed terminology escapes me. Like all the beers they sell at summa them gigs. I just want a cold one that doesn't taste like a roast beef sandwich shoved in a bottle. "waynzo", thats funny lol. I spent so much money on stuff last year it'll be another year till I can afford anything. I was just telling mentoneman that last night.

We had this new guy at work a few years ago ... within a week of him starting he had nick names for everyone ... lmao

I was dubbed " Waynzo "

he's been gone a least a year ... but when they wanna bust my balls they call me Waynzo still ....

careful talking with Pat @mentoneman ..... he's had some gear under his hands .... he can send you down a rabbit hole real quick :)

He was linking me JAMES TYLERs last night. I shouldn't even be on rig talk, lol. I told myself it's all maintenance this year and am gonna stick to that. If I can score some grant funds I might get an EV RE-20 mic to use on some recordings. I have everything I NEED just a few things out there that I want. It doesn't help that Jose is constantly trading, buying, selling nice gear. Dude just traded a jaguar and POS modeling amp for a 335....

I stay away from the weird delta variants, because the regulations can be iffy and I heard about spraying it. The THCA is supposed to be better, as a grower claims it is just harvested early essentially but...they need to just let people have the real thing.

Yeah, there is full sunthetic stuff too, which I stay super far away from. Absolutely terrifying. I knew a dude who was addicted to it and sold it and he said "the first one's free." Pass on that shit.

I'm down for surprise goodies in an order. I mean, fk Sweetwater's candy compared to this.

yeah ..... that would be some pedal box swag eh ?? My luck though .... I'd get caught the first time I would ever try . I guess I'm lucky being out here in New England .... there's Dispensaries everywhere ..... I've got two within a 5 minute drive ..... and it ain't no Delta whata evah da fuk you guys have

they've got straight Indicas out here in the lower 30 % range ...... by the time you get through a 3/4 gram cone of one of those .... you might as well be that tator tot that's been in the bottom of your oven for a month ..
