PSA: If you're gigging and you smell smoke...

The smoke is just the natural byproduct of @VonBonfire sword fighting with a James Tyler neck
It'll be years before I could afford to buy a JAMES TYLER GUITAR as that would be a luxury purchase for me since I can't afford guitars that don't function as moneymaking tools. I can't even afford the ones that function as moneymaking tools either but that's another discussion, lol.

A friend went into NYC to help his college student son find an apartment. He said "smoke" was wafting everywhere they went.
How things have changed since a roach in your car ashtray got you arrested.

that's what i'm hearing.
I haven't been to the city in about 10 yrs and don't care if i ever go back

the decent clubs are getting $35-40 a drink plus $100 to get in and another $100 to park, plus tolls and congestion pricing

that's a lot of gear i can buy right there

when we were kids in the 70s we cut out of HS on Fridays. Jump on the train and go to 48th street and play guitars all day.
the 5 of us would have $8 between us and it was still enough to buy a bone two 40s and lunch

meh i don't touch anything under 30% :)
I decided to nickname you Hundred proof.

Lol, wut? What counts as a decent club? You can get a Lonestar tallboy at many local swillholes, even around Austin for about $5, sometimes even less. A fancy craft beer might be 8-10 bucks but there won't be a cover. The north has weird pricing cause in downtown Minneapolis in the early 2000's they wanted $5 for a 12oz budweiser.....

the high end NYC clubs where all slut models go to. Places that open at midnight and run to 4am. even if youre on line doesn't mean you getting in

for your info its 101 proof. get it right. i cant go back to 80 to 85 anymore. goes down like lemonade.
101 is like putting super in your car.

plus doing 101 i drink a lot less quantity.

Unless you are one of those dudes who hang out at NYC clubs where sluts go we need to hang out because Wild Turkey 101 is among my favorite hard beverages and I'm not talking about mixing it. One of my trade secrets when I consider a new blues band hire is to hand them a double shot of the stuff right before going on stage and see if they can maintain their blues chops. If they fall apart it means they probably mostly play Guns n Roses with a modeling amp not blues. Don't tell anyone I told you that.

NYC is definitely a different world: efficiency apartments run $3,000 to 3,500 a month in Manhattan.
