Someone's selling a Soldano SLO 100 in Seattle, WA for $1750 which is DIRT cheap. I tried communicating with him but he seems like a total knob. He will not ship. So if you're local to Seattle, grab it!

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/msg/2358419958.html

If you're in Seattle and DON'T want to buy it then buy it for me, I'll PayPal you the funds plus shipping costs.

What a dickbag...

He could get another $300-$500 if he just dropped it off at the UPS store.

Yeah he's a total douche. The price he's selling at is a testimony to his stupidity and lack of appreciation for what he has. Either way, I won't mind taking advantage of his idiocy. If a Rig-Talk member gets it that's good enough for me because I know they will value it.

I'm going to have Mike or Bill Sundt pick it up and ship it to me.

:D

What do they normally go for? couldn't find any on ebay for sale or that have sold recently. How many Seattle area RTers are there I wonder?

Hmmmm no offense but maybe this amp is better suited for someone more familiar with it?

Good luck to you. Be prepared though. The guy is a tool.

Could be taken as condescending and offensive to some, but not me. :D Actually, I have no interest in buying this amp even if it were $1000. Was just curious as to what the "going rate" on a $4000 SLO was. I also could have checked it out/ picked it up for someone else if they were really wanting it and the dude would not ship.

Used they go in the $2000-$2500 range depending on options.

Sorry, man. I probably shouldn't have said it that way then. My apologies. I hope you understand what I was trying to say though. Spending that much on an amp unless you're REALLY sure its what you want is never wise. Now let me go wash my mouth out with soap :)

I understood what you were getting at. It's cool.

Why won't the dickbag respond to "Is it still available"? Don't you have to ask to see if the asshole still has the amp? What a douchebag.

Be careful though, could be a scammer. They offer trades just to lure you in and make you feel like it's legit, then they go back on it and try to get your cash.

A buddy and me are in the process of possibly acquiring a bunch of gear on the cheap. The pile of gear includes a VHT UL100, Elmwood M60, and Suhr Standard quilt-top. Some other cabs, rack gear, and odds and ends as well. Price? $2k-2500 total. We're a bit scared, because right now high-end gear seems to be selling for an all-time low on Ebay, and both of us are in pretty tight financial straits at the moment (he is unemployed and I have been dealing with a tsunami of medical bills due to my recent back surgery). But if this deal happens, it's just too good to pass-up and things aren't so bad right now that we couldn't still turn a profit on it all. In better times, we'd probably triple our money. Not in these times though...

At that price you have nothing to worry about. So long as the items aren't ragged out to hell.

Yeah and the other worry is that the stuff even exists. You might end up going someplace and getting robbed!

Like they say back home: " when the charity is so big even the poor is suspicious.." Which would be something like thats just too good a price to be good...

Anyway...

I'm pretty sure they're in good shape. I wanted to keep the Elmwood for myself (cause I've always wanted one -- even though I've never played one), but it's just not in the cards right now. Both he and I need to turn a profit. No siphoning-off gear for ourselves. Too bad this wasn't last year -- I'd probably buy and keep all three of the big items for myself.

My buddy used to own a music store and has been dealing with this seller for many years. He seems to buy nice stuff and then dump it cheap later-on. Just a few months ago (in January), I bought a TC G-Sys and ESP Eclipse II from the guy [through our mutual buddy] for $850 each. Not the best deal in the world, but certainly far from the worst. I was very happy with it. I don't know the full story, but the guy just goes for broke when he's got money, then later-on needs to unload in a hurry.

Hey, when you're ready to sell, hit me up. I'll gladly contribute to your profit ;)

You sure that stuff isn't stolen? It's gotta be that or a scam.

Read my above posts. The seller has always done this. He owns his own business and seems to live in a feast-or-famine world. He's well-known to our mutual friend for several decades and there's NO way the mutual friend would be dealing with/in stolen gear. I've known (and was a loyal customer) the friend for about 25 years now. There's just nothing like that going-on. Just a cyclically VERY-motivated seller who is also very motivated to buy at times as well.
