PSA to sellers (aka Photobucket rant)

If you really want to interest buyers, put a picture in the ad (not just a link to a picture). If you just put a link to Photobucket you are subjecting potential buyers to the cesspool of advertisements that Photobucket has become. When I see a link to Photobucket I usually just back out of the ad and move on. I'm not going to Photobucket so they can shove yet another dead fetus in my face (OK, if I REALLY want the item I admit I will).

This isn't so much about the ads here, it's more about Photobucket becoming a POS. Sending anybody there is a cruel joke. That said, it's still good practice to just put the pic in the ad (and IIRC, it's in the Classifieds rules).

I have a ton of pics there but I need to start using another service. Photobucket is borderline unuseable anymore. Suggestions?

And to close on a lighter note, my first pic to the Phetusbucket in 2006:

You have to stop using the desktop version of PHOTOBUCKET and use the mobile app instead.

And don't access your pictures from PHOTOBUCKET in order to load them. Do it the other way around and it will be lightning fast. (Save the pic to your device, then load them up to PHOTOBUCKET.)

The phone app is much better. Can add pictures in seconds to an add. Do it through the website and its easily 5-10 minutes for me. What a mess...

Thanks for the suggestion. I do use the app to upload and I agree it's a bazillion times better/faster. Reverb is also easier that way for me too.

Maybe it's the cheesy nature of the ads they shove in your face. At no point would I ever let some of those images pop up in my customers face. It has a direct, adverse effect on their actual 'product/service'.

It still sucks... I hang on RT from a desktop computer 99% of the time and it can take as long as 60 seconds for a small, nearly worthless picture to appear on Photobucket. Naturally, the pictures for all of the idiotic links they want you to click on load first.

Like the OP said, I'd have to REALLY, REALLY want something to follow a Photobucket link. I bail as soon as I see them...

As an alternative to everyone-I've been using imgur the last few years. Seems to work just fine.

I agree with the photobucket rant, it is becoming useless.

Flickr offers 1tb of free storage and is higher quality storage than imgur or Photobucket. Plus there are barely any ads.

Agreed 100%. I'm just too lazy to export from Photobucket into imgur with my older stuff. Google Photos is great for my cloud storage but ridiculous to share from in my experiences. Imgur is quick and easy

I have ad block plus installed. On phototbucket it blocks 75 ads!
