No, EQ is an option, as is Reverb. The plus and plus plus are actual amp mods. The Mesas need the GEQ IMO...

Killer Mang ... what year is that head ?

Late 1983. It's a 2C upgraded to 2C++. 100 power transformer, non-simulclass. Loaded with Chinese C8's and Sylvania 6L6's. The amp is killer.

Sounds killer. What cab & speakers were the Camerson running through?

I think people should also take the player into consideration. They're all great clips and great amps, but I have no doubt Dave is going to sound like Dave no matter what he's plugging into as well...

How do you like those Aldrich pickups compared to ceramic based pickups you've had/have? I sometimes struggle with Alnico Vs.

I like them a lot. I tend to set them a bit low...like 1/8+ below the strings. I find it they are too high, they get mushy. Too low, and they lose attack.

I was going to post the same thing In fact, many years ago I pointed out to The Rat his amps sounded like Mesa Boogies, he got offended.

I think there are some sonic similarities, but not enough to really say they sound the same. I find it interesting that when you play a Marshall based amp like the CCV or Aldrich and play a Boogie right after, your ears acclimate quickly and it sounds good. When you go from the Mark 2C++ or Mark III to the CCV or Aldrich, there is such a major difference with the mid range. It's hard to explain, but easy to hear.
