Who makes the best push/push pots and where can I get them for he best price?
And what is the reason for there being so many more manufacturers producing push/pull pots vs push/push? Only reason i can think of is durability....

i haven't had any problems with alpha push pull pots.

not sure on the push push answer.

I wired up my strat with a push push coil split since I wanted to keep the stock look, and it's faster switch than a push pull. No issues so far.

Push/push tend to wear out much faster.

That's what I was thinking.
I have a push/push in one of my guitars (manufactured in 2011) and its already getting to the point of not catching during some clicks. Hoped it was a low quality pot, but since it was in a custom order ESP I'm guessing it's as good as it gets, and the mechanism just doesn't last.
They are just so much more convenient though!

WD Music do a really great Push Push pot.

Had mine about 3 yrs and no issues.

I got a few from push/push pots by WD Music Products via eBay and I use them for coil splitting, usually in the tone pot location. I haven't had any wear out yet but I honestly don't use them a lot. I didn't know they existed until I picked up a Yamaha RGZ211M that had one in it. I like it mainly because I don't have to worry about the knob pulling off when I use it and it's a lot quicker to smack the top of the knob to switch it than to grab a knob and pull up without yanking too hard. I hate blade switches so I tend to use a LP style 3 way toggle and the push-push for added switching when needed.
