I was thinking about how Monster Inc. is such a shitty company, and their cables aren't really that great when I remembered something:

Monster Cables have a lifetime warranty!

Every time I've ever traded in my Monster Cables, they never ask any questions. They just exchange it.

So, if you have an old Monster Cable laying around, trade it in.

Take the new one, and use it to tie something together in your backyard. Once it looks a little used, trade it in.

Use the new one to jump rope for a few days. That way you can stay in shape. Once it looks a little used, trade it in.

Tie the new one to your bumper and pull something down the street with it. Once it looks a little used, trade it in.

Tie the new one to your house and hang Chinese lanterns from it for a party. Once it looks a little used, trade it in.

Oh, and one other thing. Inform others of how Monster Cable would shut down sites like eBay, Craigslist, and Amazon for selling their shitty products without their permission if SOPA is passed. Their company is shit, and you shouldn't give them your money. But, if you did buy a Monster Cable, use it to bundle up some firewood. Once it looks a little used, trade it in.

Care to elaborate on that?

They are trying to stop all second hand and used sales through the internet so that they can make more money on direct sales. Basically turn the functional free market into a corporate oligarchy backed by federal law.

...and their cables don't even sound good.

Did your cousin get fired from Monster cables or something? Seems like a waste of time for the hate. Why not hate on some chemical company who dumps toxic green shit in a river or something?

I agree with the original post. This dude, Mr Lee he is insane. He sues anyone with the name monster in it. His attorneys cease and desist letters are comical. He sent one to a plumber. Letter says something like, to avoid confusion in the market.. Whatmarket? plumbing or cables. ?? insane.

Because this is Rig-Talk, not some Greenpeace "Save the Whales" forum. And, it's not that I hate Monster Cable. They were reliable back when I didn't know any better. I just think that if they are planning on shutting down sites like Craigslist, which I use quite frequently, I should return some of the karma.

I don't like SOPA. That's where I place the hate.

I am going to just stick to not buying their products.

if you guys check it oul youll know.....hes another randall smith in the worst possible way....he is truely insane with his wealth. cuckoo for cocoapuffs that guy..

Well I don't think they'll get Craigslist shutdown and you'd be better off throwing their cables in the garbage and use Mogami and pimp them whenever you can.

I've used the same 2 Monster instrument cables for the last 15 years. They're pretty beat, so I went to Guitar Center a few weeks ago to see if I could trade them in. The guy said he had to put them on the cable tester to make sure they were defective before he could exchange them.

Now, I've experienced shorts and buzzes here and there, and it may have been the cable. . .maybe not. Regardless, of course they couldn't get the cables to mess up on the tester, so I left with my 15 year old beat up cables.

Or, take all your Monster Cables and throw them into the toxic waste green shit river. then fish them out and send them back, so not only do they have to give you new cables, but they get radiation poisoning too! Booya!

I was at NAMM two years ago, and the dude from Monster Cable cornered me

MONSTER DUDE: So, what kind of amp do you play

ME: Bogner Shiva

MONSTER DUDE: What kind of cables do you use?

ME: I make my own.

MONSTER DUDE: Would you make your own tires for your Ferarri?

Then he launches into this ridiculous speech about how good their cables are, etc, etc. (During which, my fellow forumites Aeroic and EWSEthan decide to walk away and leave me stranded...) hahaha.

I used to use monster cable a lot, but I started using Mogami, Planet Waves, lava cable, and George L's

I like all of these cables a lot more than any monster cable I have owned. I still use a 30 foot monster instrument cable, and it has never failed me :P I'd rather buy other cable anyway. I Like making my own length cables, and you can't do that with Monster, but even if they did, I wouldn't use them.

Salesmen like that really get on my nerves. Salesmen in general, but this type of breed in particular.

Why insult people?!

Should just unsolder the ends and bring them back.

Oh man. Would totally love it if this happened to me. Would start asking for capacitance and inductance measurements, the geometry of the shield and insulator, etc. Love me an arrogant salesman.
