I’m on the other side of the discussion that thinks it is up to the parent to navigate those waters. My daughter was introduced to “drag” when she was 4. We all watch dancing with the stars and one of the “stars” was a drag queen.
My daughter noticed that sometimes the person is dressed like a women and sometimes not. So after I explained it to her she said “oh. He’s a good dancer”
And that was it. I’m a firm believer that prejudice is something that is learned. And I know prejudice is a strong word but kids have to be taught that things are weird or different, and if the only “bad” thing about being a drag queen is that it’s different, then it pretty easily stops being a problem if people grow up just thinking it’s another spice of life

Pedophilia is definitely an issue but it’s going to to tough to truly combat it if people are still seeing gays as more “predatory” than anyone else. It blurs the lines of what we are really fighting for
