Yeah listened to this a couple of times yesterday. Still haven't decided what to make of it. TLT sure sounds pretty much like the previous singer ;).

Yeah I just listened to it twice. TLT sounds exactly like Tate. This is not jaw dropping, but it only a clip from one song so I will not be too quick to judge. but it sounds better than the crap they have been putting out in the past 10-15 years or so.

Oh yeah that's SO true!

I think they guys feel they have a lot to prove especially now that Tate's declared he's been responsible for 81% of ALL the material QR has EVER put out.

He sounds A LOT like Tate! Not sure about it really, sounds a bit messy.

I wonder if they would ever record a greatest hits with him singing?

Kind of like the way Journey did with Arnel Pineda

Agreed, it sounds a million times better than any recent efforts. I like it. Is it RFO, Mindcrime or Empire? hell no, but I'm not expecting it to be. It's good though, and this only one clip. Could be great.

Tate is so fucked up. He claims that he's responsible for their best material, yet he also claims to "hate their classic metal sound" and thinks it's ridiculous, which is why he went to that horrid writing style on the last few albums. BUT, in that other QR thread, word is that his new QR material is going to be "way heavier than expected".

All the good stuff in the past was written mostly by Chris DeGarmo soooo....I'm not expecting much here. DeGarmo knew how to write the catchier riffs. Even on one of the more recent albums he guest wrote one or two and they clearly stood out to me to be the better songs on what I thought was a lame directionless album. Just MO

Not totally sure what to make of it.... I try not to judge by teaser clips because it's just a little fragment of what the whole experience is gonna be the first time you spin it... Freakin' pumped to hear the new album though!! Let's hear Whip and Edbass get that sick intertwined riffer madness goin' ON again baby!! \m/\m/

I never liked Tate or the band but I kind of liked it lol... he does sound an aweful lot like Tate on the highs though. I guess it is great for them.. they get to make the album they have wanted to with a guy that sounds like their old singer in his prime. Can't go wrong with that..

What, do you mean that GT is lying when he says he's written 81% of all the material the band has released?! Or do you mean that only 19% of their material is good...?! I'm confused here...

      just kidding.

You got a good point there, I'm very much in agreement with you. After CDG left the music went downhill. Actually it started slightly before his departure IMO.

I love the old Queesryche stuff and have a enough of it on my iPod that it pos up frequently. Truth be told, I didn't immediately love the old stuff when I first heard it and it took me some time to really appreciate it. I get the same vibe from the teaser clip; I want to really like it, but don't. At least not yet...

This is the best material I have heard since Promised Land, which is the last album Queensryche released that I can listen to without skipping tracks.
