I don't think so. I had a Pacer Deluxe, all black...what a guitar that was, worked all damn summer one year bagging groceries for that sucker only to have it stolen out of my car after a gig . My Dad managed to get insurance money for it and I got a Jackson USA Soloist, so not all was lost. That Kramer was a great guitar and to this day I keep my eyes peeled for it...I know the serial #. Cool story, bro, I know...
Are you thinking of the "Focus" series? Those, I think were imports.
At some point the Pacers were made in Korea. But, I do not know the year this started. Focus' were made by ESP in Japan; decent guitars but VERY thin necks. Too thin for me at least; my Charvels feel like a 58 LP compared to the Focus that I had briefly a couple yrs ago.
Not a Kramer expert by any means but I've almost bought a few...but I get conflicting sources on which models were actually made here vs just assembled in New Jersey back in the day from MIJ/MIK parts.
I still have a Focus 3000 that I bought new in '87-'88ish but I have changed the neck to a oil-finshed Maple Musikraft neck because of the tiny stock neck mentioned above. It really is tiny. Also gave it a new complete pickguard assembly. It is a great guitar now but hardly a Kramer anymore.
Mine was Japan built but neck plate says New Jersey.
Ain't she purty, paint has yellowed over the years.
