I typically rely on my amp to provide the dirt (OD), but have sparingly used the BB Pre, OCD and BMPi on my crunch and cleaner channels. I use a superior clean boost on all my amps - and this actually drives the front end of the amp into break up, rather than distorting the guitar's signal before it hits the preamp.
In my experience and humblest opines, using the clean boost up front and relying on the head to get busy with the extra horsepower has offered way better sonic results. But again, so hard to offer advice when I don't know what it is you're really looking for.
Cheers,

well i am jsut looking for something little extra like what the maxon od-9 does when used as a boost.. i thought maybe if i used a clean boost that it might give my amp alittle more balls.. i dont really know how to explain it. sorry. i just want more balls

If you happen to find the 48V "Pro" model on ePay or CL, hit it. It's over-the-top. Now, this thing is by far my fave pedal and all it does is act as an incredibly clean "CLEAN" boost. But by increasing the octane of the signal coming into the amp's preamp section, it slams it - and providing your amp is tasty in the sense of pre and post saturation, it makes the most musical overdrive I've ever experienced. I've run this stomp on a variety of amps, and haven't been displeased with the results whatsoever. It's like hitting an NOS switch on a hot-rod, I can't think of any other description. It just takes your tone and sound and 'elevates' it incredibly.
Before I bought mine, I did a lot of research and this was the top banana for me. YMMV.
Peace,
Mo
