Question about discharging filter caps

The manufacturer straight out told him they are from a bogus batch ....
I can appreciate your thought process ....but if they go while the amps on .... they could do a lot more harm to other components causing a lot more problems than the 5 minutes to swap the two caps
Preventative maintenance is what I'd call it
I can't argue with wanting to take the safe road but it's not a 5 min job for the OP.

Does he have to ship the amp out? Will the tech he uses fuck something else up? I am just weighing risk vs reward.

I would say if you are going to do it, don't take the old ones off the board. Just attach the new ones to the old leads.

This way you don't hurt the board or have to take it out.

The ones he needs replacing are accessible from the top .... doesnt have to pull the board ... its only four pads total ...
I think he could do it no problem ...
I doubt he even needs to drain any caps ... most modern amps diffuse their voltage on their own in a few minutes ..
Doesn't mean he shouldn't check if it's safe ....
Shit if he wants to send the chassis to me I'll do it for free ...
