Does anybody know the thickness of the necks (and nut width) on the Charvel So-Cal and San Dimas? For example, the Suhr Pro Series is .810 at the 1st fret and .930 at the 12th fret and my Anderson is .810 at the 1st fret and .860 at the 12th.

You know that doesn't answer his question regarding the neck thickness, right?

:loco: ....try paying just a lil' more attention. It actually answers part of his question. How about you go fetch, and find the rest of the info he needs. M'kay? :jerkit:

I have no idea what the exact measurement of the thickness is, but they are the most comfortable necks out there IMO.

i have quite a few Charvels (Custom shop, mutt and pro-mod) and they all have 1 11/16" nut width with R3 nuts. the heel width is 2 1/4". as for the pro-mod neck thickness they do vary a bit but are mostly in the .780"-.790" 1st and .830"-.840" 12th ballpark. it's much less of a drastic taper than the suhr pro series guitars and is IMO much better feeling partly due to that. the pro series goes from slim to baseball bat thick and bulky and feels like two different guitars as you move up and down the neck. way too drastic a taper. the suhr reb beach neck on the other hand is real nice since it's fairly close to the Charvel style with a subtle taper. the charvels have such a subtle taper it hardly feels like any change at all which is great feeling as you play up and down the neck. they're also real comfortable since they sort of blur the line between a C and D back shape. they aren't quite as round as a C but not as flat as a D with the typical shoulder of a D, a good balance between the positive attributes of each shape.

I took a caliper to my Charvel So Cal neck. It's right around 19.5mm at the 1st fret, and 21mm at the 12th.

All I know is that Charvel nailed it and now own 3 of the best necks I have played, just so comfortable.

Mine go to 11!!!!!!!

Best necks I've ever lain fingers on...

Not to hijack the thread, but how do the Charvel necks compare to the one on the Jackson Soloist?

Totally different necks, binding vs rolled edges to start.

The Nitro-aged Charvels have rolled necks and a 1 3/4 nut width. I don't know if that is any different than the other Custom Shop Charvels.
