Specifically the i63 12ax7. Are they all the same or is one specific rebrand better than another?

Yep, all the same, ‘good’!
Philips, Hammond, Amperex, Telefunken, Fisher, Rogers, Heathkit (etc) all relabelled Mullards in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s…
Just look for the 4 digit Blackburn (Mullard) factory ‘Bxxx’ date code and of course, the ‘I63’ code in same area.
On a side note, the Philips branded Mullards have been some of the best monster toned I63 Mullards I’ve had great luck with.
… but we’re cutting hairs here, any I63 that tests great is a phenomenal tube in my opinion?

Also, if you have a Marshall or whatever amp that’s just too bright, get an I61 code Mullard, which is a warmer fatter tone without that aggressive upper mid attack/push.
Personally, I have a dozen of these I61’s, but I much prefer the I63’s for rock / metal tones by far!
