Well the amp kicks ass on it's own that's for sure. But those Dimarzios have been one of my favorite pickups ever since I put them in Jeff's guitar. He actually has 2 guitars over my house with the 36th Anniversary's... The second one is a USACG mahogany tele with nickel-covered 36th anniversary's. That one sounds even better than the strat!

I just ordered a nickel-covered DP223 for my Axis SS bridge position...

Thanks. Now I know what an 80 sounds like through 25 watt Greenbacks. I have 30 watt Rola's (55hz) in my 4 X 12 and I dig it.

I've heard everyone talk about the Budda's being a dark sounding amp. Maybe the 15 and 30 watters are, but I have no shortage of highs with the 80 at all.

I use a EP Booster right now set at about 1:00 for solos, but my gain is around noon to 1:00 on the amp and I play with single coils. I have to admit, around 3:00 on the gain everything gets nice and fluid, even without any type of boost.

I guess the lower wattage ones can be darker because the EL84's generally sound darker than 6L6's or EL34's. Also, I found the combos to have a tendency to be darker as well.

Sounds absolutely stellar to my ears! Sounds about the same as my Superdrive 30 series II head driving my Genz Benz cabs. Mine is a tad darker but I find boosting it with the tube screamer variants I own seem to bring out my ideal tone.

I think it's because the lower wattage Superdrive amps have EL84's which tend to run darker. But yeah, when you throw a tubescreamer in there it adds cut.
