I found this amp on the local ads a few years ago, but I coudn't find any worthwile demos of it..
The stock speaker is pure sh*t. So bad that I transformed the combo into a head to completely eradicate any memory of that awefull tone. In a quality cab, it is great! Not too loud...

I always loved it, I think it sound like a mix of marshall 800 and peavey 5150. With el84.

I wish I could say I made a beautiful lenghty demo but my headphones crapped while i was recording

Anyway, I had the time to record a little bit... It's the ultra gain channel with the gain pot not activated, boosted with a bad monkey... That gain pot is interesting. I think it have a similar effect as the Fortin Grind. It boost a very similar frequency.

DIY 4x12 with veteran 30. sm57
Single tracked. It is what it is

some dropped palm mute.. the amp reacts very well.. the gain knob was pulled on that one

These are way sleeper amps. Don't pull the gain dime the master...it smokes

It might be my ear buds failing, but I am hearing some clipping throughout the clips. But like you said, it is what it is!

:)

Otherwise sounds good and I like both of the clips. I would like to hear more of the Bravo!

Thanks guys..

I'll be happy to post more clips... The clean channel is great also.

Tronald : yeah they is clipping, i was a little too loud for the mic preamp..

I must say that it is modded... I added a variable biais resistor.. That thing changed the fell of the amp.. once it is biased correctly the sound becomes way warmer

That was GOOD! Chunked hard

Yeah I could hear a particular midrange honk to it in both clips- not a bad thing at all, because it still distorted nicely, or rather, retained its aggression rather than just smear over the rest of the sound. It would cut well in a band.

I like it heaps better than a lot of modern metal sounds that just seem too "clattery" and harsh.

I do hear the microphone clipping too on some of the palm mutes. More of a recording issue than an amp issue.

Thanks, I really like that small thing.. It's loud..

The midrange "honk" is part the bravo, part my cab.. I made It a few years ago using the 1960a blueprint, but I tweaked it with the oversized recto recipe... It's a unique cab with veteran30 and et65... Just for fun I made an impulse of it with dynamic and condenser mics... Even the Fortin NTS as that (my?) sound.. But the bravo is way more brutal...

Somebody said earlier to not pull the gain knob.. It depends, when with a band or loud music, it helps the sound tu cut through.. It's really like a fortin grind, a boost of 2-3khz

I'll record some more bravo later this week.. it's still the holidays and I don't want to be too loud for the family

(NTS vst here for the curious.. it sound softer and playing is crap)

ps : there is a condenser mic mixed in that pretty high, It tryed to make sound like old testament.. I love that sound

This is how I made the following. Volume full!

There is no mics, just IRs. Ownhammer Mesa Oversized, 421-03 and 414-08

Gain is on 8, not pulled. Master is at 10.
I guess it's loud, I don't know I have made a DIY resistive load.
A real bigass 200w 80hm resistor.. I know a load is supposed to be active but In my case it just work.

I added bass, I just plugged in the bravo, no tweak on the EQ or change channel   The ir is 3sigma 8x10 (2b)

It's two songs ideas that happened while I was recording so I kept them as is..

There is almost no EQ tweaks.. On the bass there is a trick to make it sound bigger (wider)

Very cool. It really has a "room" sound to it which I find lacking in a lot of other VST clips.

Thanks!

I use a sprinkle of Valhalla Room VST everytime I use VST or IRs. I don't really appreciate the "ear stuck to the speaker" sound IR tend to give
