Hey guys, I've asked this on other boards in the past, but I tend to value this board's opinions a little more. Trying to put a SUPER simple little portable rig together. For those of you that have used the DigiTech GSP1101, when using the 4 cable method with a head, do you notice any tone loss or impedance screwery compared to just running into the front of the amp? Is it pretty transparent when bypassed? Other units I've tried have neutered the bottom end and taken the top end chime off.

Thanks!

I found it to be pretty transparent and wish I still had one! For the money I think the f/x quality is up there.

I seem like I'm the only one who had issues, but I noticed a pretty consistent lack of saturation and sustain on the already dry amps I had. I did make sure to turn the noise gate off in the GSP.

I was using it through a Pittbull Ultra Lead, then also a VHT Deliverance 120 that had an insert loop put in by Victoria amps. The sounds from the GSP1101 were pretty darn good, but it neutered my amps' tones. I ended up getting rid of it as a result.

I don't know about the GSP but my RP500 sucks major tone when using it for just FX with an amp.

I gigged with one for a couple of years and ran in 4cm with a 5153 50w and an Orange Dark Terror and had it in a rack with an old ADA mp1. It worked great with all, and the floorboard controller is really good and solid. It may be for sale soon, i just got the Fractal Ax-8 and there is no going back.

I was using it with a 5153 50W in 4CM to have a clean sound and be able to crank the blue channel. It sounded transparent enough with the 5153. Then I tried the 4CM with my Mesa Mark IV and it sucked the tone out of the amp. I'm know using it in the loop of the Mark IV for the effects.

Very versatile fx unit, I used it in a series loop for years. One ADDA conversion was quite transparent. Adding another digitizing before the preamp did seem to suck all the 'feel' and tone.

Could be amp dependent, this was on a Peavey Bravo thru a 1x12" theile cab.
