B Buckeyedog Active member Sep 7, 2009 #5 Just for future reference, always use the product divided by the sum when using parallel set up. So 8*8/(8+8) = 64/16 = 4 ohms.

So you take the Ohm rating of the speakers and multiply them together. Two 8 ohm speakers - 8*8=64. Sum means addition. Take the Ohm ratings and add them together. 8+8 =16 So the product = 64 and you divide that by 16 or (64/16) which = 4 Ohm total load. This is parallel wiring only. Series you just add them together. ex. 8 + 8 = 16 Ohm load.
