So...how do plug-ins hang with middle of the road modelers, with the high end modelers with the real deal?
Figure I find out first hand...

This wasn’t a scientific hang, nor was it done with any kind of depth. Just dialed a similar patch...simple thing.
Old Marshall compared to old Marshall in Amplitube 3, Axe-Fx ad 11 Rack...
The thing was routed...from the guitar to the amp and 3 different sims.
Dialed the sims to the same setting as the head, used a 57 on a greenie and called it a day.
The first row is bone dry, and then the same with a plate verb off the UAD 2 slapped on...

Clink on the link for the audio...

And before any one complains that it's not DA BREWTELZ, this is the sound I want...if you don't dig it, great...but not my problem.

I see some cute little critters and some text, but nothing to click on. I see a quicktime logo as the page is loading, but I can't click on anything to open it.

Do you not have quicktime installed?

So the one on the far right is the 11 rack?

That one anyway, sounds a lot more pleasing to my ears than the one on the far left, which to me was most displeasing.

Maybe its because its out of context, i don't know.

Hmmm..there are 5 different clips wet and dry, and I have not mention in what order they were in.

I just figured... but it didn't make sense to me.
Anyway... I am going for the one the far right.

My bad. It's 64 bit windows and QT isn't very friendly with it. I can't see the QT bar at the bottom. I have to click in the dark. :) But I can hear them.

I like #4 the best. Then maybe #2, then #3, then #1. #2 can of sounds like a cleaner amp hit with an OD. I'm curious as to why it's that different.

OK, 4, 5, 2, 3, and then 1.
Interesting...
Yeah, I dunno why 2 sounds as different, I have an idea why but it doesn't make all that much sense.

I'm curious as to the results. I might like a modeler the most or the real deal the least. It happens.

Do you agree that #2 has something different going on that the rest? The rest at least sound like a similar technique, but 2 sounds different, BUT it sounds more natural than 1 and 3....which will probably bite me in the rear before it's done. :)

Cool post. Brutal honesty.
From left to right I liked 2 the best (could reduce a bit of bass though) then 4 (didn't dig the high end as much, kind of sharp) the rest I didn't care for.

Yeah 2 sounds like the mic model was at the opposite angle then the rest...which is possible I guess.

Can't wait to hear what each one is, and then I will say that I guessed it right 100%.
