Got a couple of new toys to save my poor old back. Only can get cell phone clips so this isn't the best, just a few quick chugs.

These cell phone clips do no justice. Sounds so much better in the room to me but here is the mid cut switching.

First play through is with mid cut off.

Repeat the riffs with mid cut on and then after I tweaked the knobs a little for a better sound.

Can get them both sounding good but you have to tweak a little after switching. When someone does a proper play through video you can see how extreme the differences can be. Barely noticeable in this clip.

This is still in the loop with the Buxom boost in front. Gonna try to run the preamp pedal in front next to see the difference.

Yeah i put it in the loop of the bogner with my v30 4x12. Sounds good but thats in an unfinished basement so the concrete just makes everything sound bad lol. I do really like the pedal. Through the Quiler or Bogner it gets the speakers moving, feels nice and idk it kind of does have that hi fi thing going on like the actual Herbert amp from what I remember but not as refined. The more I mess with it the better I like and im glad I kept the Buxom boost because that sounds better to me than the other 2 boosts I have.

Still the gear nut in me wants to compare it to some others.

The Herbert pedal through the fx return of an actual Herbert is basically the same as CH 3 of the amp. The difference is the pedal is a little stiffer in feel, the high end needs to be brought down a little more, and the pedal's low end is more boomy while the amp's is punchier. The differences are minor though and if you weren't A/Bing them you probably wouldn't be able to tell.

This is what someone replied on SS.org. Seems like he may possibly have the amp and the preamp pedal?

I have only played the real amp once and not for very long. From what I can remember the amp was crushing. Has that Hi-Fi thing going on and it will crush your rib cage. The pedal also has the hi fi thing going on but not as refined. Obviously I am not dealing with a Diezel Power amp so there will probably be major differences. The Preamp pedal seems similar but just a little but less of everything. However this is a $300 pedal and not a $3k amp.

I have tried the Herbert a few times. Different revisions each time. Definitely a hi-fi Metal amp to me. I tried it next to the original ENGL Powerball and at the time thought it was superior and I like (and owned) the Powerball. Intriguing wonder what it would sound like in the loop of my Ironball? LOL
