I'm reading that people think the 101 mini head (100 watts) is plenty loud for live whereas the Tone Block is stupid loud.

Can anyone confirm? I had an ISP stealth (180 watts) and it was not loud enough to fill a small club w/ no mic/pa

Everyone seems to say the Quilter watts are louder than other solid state watts...?

I'd prefer the smaller 101 as it might fit in the back of the Kemper

101 is plenty loud. I have an Aviator that is 100 watts per channel, and I used it as a dedicated clean amp through a 4x12 with the loudest drummer I've ever played with. Plenty of headroom. The Tone Block sounds great though. Either option would do the trick.

Kind of a dumb question but...how can one solid state amp be louder than the other. I understand they can be two different varied power ranges, but in terms of tone....a solid state amp doesnt need the cranked volume to cook the tubes like a tubeamp would. So I guess i'm just not understanding something..
