Rack Eleven Cab Sim and Interface Quality?

^I haven't downloaded the expansion yet, probably in a week or so, i have plenty here on my learning curve to keep me busy.

3 days in with the 11R; first impressions
I played mostly straight in exploring the amp/cab/mic tones into headphones; rarely played with the fx. First thoughts on the rock sound were moderate, but a few tweaks and the amps sound real cool- real solid tones for headphone-family-is-sleeping-people like myself. There were a few times I sort of jolted, thinking "oh no, this amp is way too loud, it'll wake the baby" before realizing it was no amp, just my headphones. So this application is a WIN. Totally useful for laying down ideas with a tone that inspiring.

I connected my mts modules via the loop and went to the cab/mic sims- yes! The Angel (Engl) clone is particularly astounding in this application. TOTAL WIN

The unit takes pedals well- not like an amp, but my pedals seemed to increase my happiness. The OD pedals in the 11R actually aren't bad, I like the Green TS. I flipped through some fx, and they're quality, fun to play with....

I'm downloading protools now, so everything I did was rack only, meaning the interface is intuitive- I never did more than glance at the manual.

It's not as great as my Amp blaring away, but for there are so many things it seems to do well, the price point is insane. It'll be interesting to see a tune get created through the 11R, reamp some tracks, maybe keep some others as is, and hear the results. I'm guessing 20 tracks of di guitar would be ill advised, but a few sprinkled in would be fine.

Keep in mind I was previously a guy who despised di electric axes, line6, etc...but this thing rocks

I just jammed out the ProTools interface- outstanding, completely intuitive, no manual needed to get going

I'm running a Soldano SP-77 with the 4cm with the 4x12 greenback cab and a u67 off axis and it nails a hot rodded 80s Marshall tone when boosted with a Suhr Riot. Best direct gain tones I've ever got. Sounds huge with a little stereo reverb.

Going to try it through my QSC K10 next week when it comes back from being fixed...if I can get the same sounds I'm getting through my headphones via FRFR it's going to be pretty awesome.

I am so happy I didn't spend the big cash on u know what. This 11R is not the best thing in the world, but it does many things well for relatively cheap cheap. I picked up an rm4 and find the cab sims are very usable- hell, the amp sims are pretty cool too. I'm really digging the fx too- not many, but good sounds. Not better than a blaring amp, but I need headphone tone too!
