Ok intelliflex,gsp1101,gmajor2,xpression,.... N whatever else. So far gsp1101 is the best to me. But no noteworthy updates w fx? So what is going to be the next rack fx is coming or out there. No not axfx 2000$ fx something affordable n good. Always wish g system lived up to it. Had it twice. Failed twice. Surprised line 6 doesn't have a rack all fx unit. Thoughts?

The Line 6 Pod Hd pro is about $500 used and you can use it for effects only. Has the same effects as the M13, M9 and the single space pro units,(mod, delay, verb or whatever the models where)

Nice pedalboard is NEXT! I ran an Intellifex for years! Never thought I could live without the Chorus or Delays from it. Now I have a small Pedaltrain Jr. with (2) Flashback delays, one for delay, and the other modulation/delay...plus another TC Chorus pedal and an MXR Phase-90 and my current rig sounds more clear, more pro sounding.... and easier to move, setup, and maintain! No more racks for me. Soft padded guitar bag, soft padded bag for Pedalboard.

Yeah, nothing sounds like my 2290 or PCM 70, but I have gone to pedal based fx simply because I don't use fx that much anymore. Just the direction the music I play has evolved.

Wonder if Fractal will make an fx only unit?

BTW, Line 6 used to offer rack versions of their stomp modeler fx. From what I remember, the delay sounded great. Used one for a recording session. I'm currently using pedals only for my fx but I'd like to put a small rack rig together someday.

Lots of great units around. Depends on what type of effects you wish to run.

If looking for something simple with knobs check out the TC M300.

What are your expectations? I ask because there are those who would argue that they can get the same results that I do from this:

They can't. Will they need that amount of versatility? Are their expectations realistic for the budget they're working with?

I used to have my rig at my shop and a guy came in and smugly asked if I needed all that stuff to get good tone. I responded, "No, I need this stuff to get the tones that this stuff gets". The point being, only you can determine how close-- close enough is, for you. When budget is a factor, then often times one is faced w/ a need to compromise their ideal.

Best wishes to you on your tone quest.

I'm on the verge of buying a rack FX unit myself but I have this irrepressible feeling that as soon as I drop the money on a new Digitech 1101, they'll announce a newer version that has all the features I wanted that the 1101 doesn't have like multiple MOD fx at the same time, fx routing, amp switching, etc. It's driving me nuts.

I was gonna buy a Digitech 2120 to get me by but I can't seem to find one under $250/local. Poop.

Gmaj or 2 was great but it lagged switching I switched channels on my diezel n a split sec later the Tc switched. Sold !

I think the Axe-FX Standard would make a good effects unit, and it is only about $1000, not $2200 ;)

So I'm thinking to try the pod pro rack ? How is it. Don't need amp or cabs models. Using Hagen n evh iii. How is harmonizer? Midi? 4cable method? How r a the fx there is a whole lot in it.

Amen. That H8000 alone is infinitely adaptable with VSIG. What a great unit!
