Rack power amps (moding advice wanted!!!)

One more question for you. I found out that the Presence pot if 25K. I can't find a concentric pot with 25K/500K. I would immagine that I could re-work the presence control to work with a 250K-500K pot by changing the Cap. Is that right, and that I should change C18, C19 from 0.0047 to 0.047 (going from 25K to 250K), or 0.022 with 500k.

I did a vid comparing power amps. Maybe it'll be helpful. You can get a MosValve amp pretty cheap, and they sound good. The Mesa 290 sounds great though.

I have the Peavey Classic mono power amp also. It is a good sounding all tube power amp. + 1 on the mesa 50/50. The Marshalls sound great as well. I am saving my bones for a Mesa 2:90 to go with my Mesa triaxis preamp . It sounds really good with the Peavey Power amp I just want the switching functions that the Mesa offers for the Triaxis. I only paid 100.00 for the Peavey and I more then got my money's worth out of it. It will make a good back up for when I get the Mesa. I have been told the VHT power amps are some of the best power amps out there.

Ive used the vht 50/50 & 90/90 as well as the mesa 50/50 & the 90/90...any of those would probably work for ya..The vhts are especially nice... but I do agree with previous posts- nothing is really "overkill"...currently runnin vht 2150,vht classic,mesa strategy 500, and marshall el 34 100/100 simply = tone.tone tone.
