Check out these pickups, Stewmac are now selling them, I may just order a set to test them out, I also like the idea and the look it gives to the pickup...

Those are the Naylor design right? I haven't heard them but that dude does know guitar stuff.

The clips turned me off to them last week, excited to hear your thoughts if you try them.

Seeing as most players primarily bend the high strings, it seems the rails would make more sense on that side?

A solution looking for a problem. Made in some far east sweatshop and costs more than a Duncan or dimarzio? It all adds up to a big pile of No for me.

Exactly what I thought and brought up on another forum. Seems the rail part makes the tone less flubby in the bass so that's why it's on the bass strings. Those polepieces are pretty big for bending so maybe there is some merit to this. Never really had a problem I couldn't dial out with pickup height or a tone control so not a problem I have had.

soundclips are not at all representative of the sound pickups produce, many companies use this for their marketing, but in reality, those clips are usually recorded for them by professionals who have thousands of dollars of gear and equippement and editing skills, quite obvioussly it would sound completely different then somebody recording a 'house demo' with his camcorder and small amplificator...

Then some soundclips will also sound horrendous to you because you may not like the way they have been recorded and maybe some others will like it so a soundclip is completely subjective and not realistic, testing a pickup comes down to ordering one and making yourself your own opinion using YOUR gear... ;)

to be honnest, made in far east has not much to do really, here you are comparing the world leader pickup manufacturers with a small company, so quite obvioussly they do not have the same financial power that Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio does, you can not compare the prices of a small company with the prices of the world leaders in the field, and 80$ for 1 pickup is a very very very good price... ;)

I respectfully disagree. It has everything to do with it. You don't outsource production to Vietnam or Korea or the like for any reason other than to drastically lower manufacturing costs.

I'm not passing any judgment on quality. I'm just saying if you choose to use cheap overseas labor, it should be reflected in the price and it doesn't seem like it is in this case.
