Hey Chubtone, what is your amp or channel of an amp of choice nowadays anyway? You excited for the return of the MTS stuff via the Synergy line with modules signed off on by the big builders?

Essentially as gainy as an 800. Sounds good for what it is but very one dimensional that's for sure. It does have the built in variac but besides that, straight up Marshall clone.

Sounds pretty damn good I thought...and I agree with Chub, pretty good price point for a hand wired Fortin amp that's a SIG amp..no less. :rock:

Horses for courses my friend. Jason records killer demo's of the Randall products that are more in his wheelhouse. Gainfreak probably couldn't begin to touch what Jason can do on the majority of the amps in Randall's line up. However, this amp is more in mine or Gainfreaks wheelhouse. What I am hearing in Lynch's demo is exactly what I want to hear. Will it do that in person? My guess is with Fortin's involvement yes!

We'll see on the Synergy stuff.

My amp of choice these days is the same as it has been for the longest time. NMV Marshalls with some pedals. I still have my Peacemaker but might off that to grab a Headhunter. I do like the blue channel on the 5153 50w. If I was gigging, that would for sure be my amp of choice.
 
Honestly was much more interested when word out of NAMM was under $2k and not limited...
 
Don't worry, they never said anything about not running a pcb production model priced at 1499$. ;)
 
Looks like a cool amp, the layout is not the same old thing at all. I like the idea of input sensitivity/variac output for better output stage distortion. Mike comes up with some great ideas, and knows how to make those ideas a reality. He was the first person I know of to have the idea of gain at specific selectable freq's to fine tune the overall tone to your likeing. They know the appeal of this amp will be to a more limited number of people, so they made a limited first run. If it takes off and is well recieved, who cares if they make more on a mass produced level later? Thats probably a good buisness plan. In the end, they do have to make a living ;)
Its good to see Mike at a company who is willing to give him the freedom and backing to try new things, not all amp companies would do that.

Love his playing on the Dokken and LM stuff, just an observation.
 
Sounds good to me! I like the "Fortin" sound and hope this is a winner. Good luck with it Curt! At that price point I would be surprised if these don't sell quickly.
 
Sound like an advanced version of a Trainwreck.

Yup. Not sure why he didn't re-do some licks on those vids. Oh well, guess it doesn't matter.

I don't understand the desire to play with a cleaner tone like that either. It doesn't suit his legato style. :aww: The notes die off. Just sounds weak.

That sounds awesome right there. I saw Lynch live about 6 months ago using the Headhunter and his tone and playing were both as good as ever. Maybe even better. George is one of my all time favorite players and I am so glad he has gotten his playing in top form again over the last few years.
 
One of my favorite tones was the Randall Mts Friedman modded Lynch Brahma module. That amp /module is worth the price of entry alone! :rock:

Nah, he plays and has played Plexi's way more. I think the sound in his head is Eddie's VH1 or VH2 sound, but he can't come right out and steal it when they were coming up at the same time.
 
To me...the tone is T&N. I love the Randall and an SD1!

I agree. After all, the old Randall RG was copied from one of Lynch's Jose modded Marshalls. Hence the pull-diode switch. That video sounds almost like one of those awful parody guitar videos. George has been losing his chops for a while. :(
 
Huge Lynch fan, first saw him 1982' live.

Ive supported him all these years and still do.

Has alot of influence in me.

However he's practically an exclusive A eolian based player these days and it gets a bit old.
