Randall RD5 NAD!

Fed Ex dropped this off 30 minutes before I had to go to work.

Glad it came while I was home but I only had 5 minutes of play time before I had to leave. Kept thinking about it all day. So it appears I'll be the first to record a clip with this little beast. It is a bad ass little amp. I'll have more to say about it later. This is what I did when I got home from work. Signal chain is my First Act POS, RD5, V30, SM57, Presonus Firebox and finally Apple Garageband. Left and Right Guitar tracks are raw.

Did I mention this thing is awesome????

Did you try boosting it with a TS?
How many 12AX7 does it have? Is the preamp all tube or it has some solid state inside?

I have not tried boosting it yet. I have a Green Screamer and a DanElectro FAB overdrive that I'll mess around with later. I usually never boost. It looks like it has 2 12AX7s.

Randall Actually, Randall said they are available to order from several retailers. I got mine straight from them though.

They are my recording pants as well as lounging around the house pants and riding pants(I don't ride anymore though). They are very comfortable and slightly stretchy.

Seriously, it's a very cool little amp. I haven't even really played with the controls yet. I plugged in and got the sound I wanted in 5 seconds. The XLR out for silent recording is really good too. I'll post some clips of that later. This is not going to be my only Randall purchase that is for sure.

5 Watt head with (1) 6V6 Power & (2) 12AX7 Preamp tubes...100% tube amp.

What is wrong with Randall.. I mean they put out some quality products but always fail when it comes to product promotion. They are seriously behind the ball, these amps should already be in vids with some crazy voice overs by the guy who does the body by jake stuff or tower 200... " You got a power outlet and enough money to waste on a date that won't put out?? Then you've got an amp that ROCKS!!"
