Cant wait to get your thoughts on the a/b Tony..we stock VHT power amps at the shop...I have been telling Bruce to get some of the Randalls also! The switching option is to cool!

Yeah...I'm pretty fired up to check it out...but I am kinda confused on how the whole thing works. You can do oone channel 34's and the other 6L6's, but I am not sure if you then run it mono into a single cab and switch or if you run it into 2 cabs.
Oh well...I am sure I will figure it out

You can do it either way. If you set it to mono, then you can set the tubes to switch with a midi device.

My initial reaction is that I like the Randall A LOT. I have all 6L6's in it right now though (which is part of the reason I wanted to try one...I love 6L6's.). I am gonna go try it with all el34's in it now.
If I like the 34's close to as much as I like the VHT 2/50/2, I will keep the Randall. If the VHT blows it away then I am not sure what I will do. I really like the 6L6's

After some pretty extensive A/Bing, I think I am gonna keep the Randall.
I love thej 6L6 tone and the el34 tone is pretty good , though not as good as the VHT.
The flexibility wins out for the Randall.
The one complaint I have is that the fan is pretty loud for low volumes, but it is a damn fins poweramp.
I think I may buy chicken head knobs for it
