Anyone know the preamp tube layout? Is it fine to run all 12ax7 in it? Or is there supposed to be a specific slot where it takes only a 12at7?

You can run all 12ax7a's in there. Just use high quality tubes. I believe I run the good old Sovteks in there and they sound good and perform well.

From another post:
Left to Right, Top to Bottom, looking at the amp from behind:

Ch2 Pwr Tube1 >>>>>> Ch2 Pwr Tube2 >>>>>>> Ch1 Pwr Tube1>>>>>>>>>Ch1 Pwr Tube2
Ch2 Phase Inverter >>>>>>>> Input driver/buffer (both) >>>>>>>>> Ch1 Phase Inverter

Cool thanks! I guess I have to figure out which preamp tube is crapping out on me. :(

Whats it doing? It would be odd to have one of the PI or input driver tubes fail, although not improbable.

When I switch it off of standby to the play position, the far right preamp tube starts "sparkling" and making crackling noises a bit for about 10 seconds. No clue what is causing it. Was hoping to sell it too, but I have to get it fixed before I can.

Ok so I took the cover off, it looks like A19 on the board is sparking and it isn't the tube... anyone know what that resistor does or what is causing it?
