I don't find a whole lot of info, reviews, or videos on these. I'm working on a metal project, and looking for a 50 watt head. EVH would be on the list, as is the Randal Diavlo RD45, or Peavey.

Small, powerful, one dimensional but it's a good one dimension.

I had the same question; and the weird thing is, the dimensions and weight on the Randall site itself don't even seem correct.
I'm pretty sure that thing won't be 50lbs and 30" wide.

Sounds like the cab?? Anyway, I rolled the dice. I ordered a Thrasher 50. I really dig the features, and tone samples of the 120 are pretty sick. I've been assured, the 50 is the same, minus some features to put in a smaller box. I like running my own tubes, biasing myself, etc. I already ordered some JJ KT77's to try at some point.

Are you sure it will take KT77's? I was under the impression they'd be EL34 replacements, not 6L6.

Do you know if the boost is a gain or level boost (I suspect gain) and if it works on both channels?

It will accept EL34, 6L6, or KT88. KT77 is an EL34 variant, (and my personal fave). Gain boost is global, and works on both channels, and footswitchable..

Cool, and how much of a gainboost jump are we talking about for the clean channel?
Only a bit louder/more bluesy or does it jump from clean-clean to say, Plexi-ish?

bump, still seeing that the Thrasher 50 isn't much talked about, eh?
