Random: Pickup Advice/Question

So my two favorite pickups for the last two years have been the BK Rebel Yell and the WCR Godwood.

I've had the Godwood for almost a full two and the Rebel Yell for six months. I love both for different things but I was wondering (with their strong points in mind) if y'all could recommend a pickup that delivers a best of both worlds approach.

GW: Smooth highs and somewhat compressed. Good bass and strong minds
RY: Higher output and uncompromising. Strong mids/highs and weaker bass.

I'm looking to the BK Holy Diver so far. In the past, I've had the Detroiter recommended to me along with some other pups.

Looking mainly to stay closer to the RY character but with a slight under wind. Mine is rated at 14.2 and 11 would be ideal.

I think the RY is based on the nail bomb.

I've switched the pups several times between today and yesterday and I keep coming back to the RY.

I have both of those pups. I settled on a BG Dark Bucker as a nice compromise between the two. In a LP by the way.

You have to try them in YOUR guitar.

The ONLY way to know what a pickup will sound like in your guitar. Anything else is a goose chase. Sustain, resonance,and, capacitance all effect the final tone. Every pickup will sound different in every guitar.

I'm not saying it doesn't help to have an idea beforehand of what to look for.

I never played any of the Godwoods. I think the Detroiter is close to what you are describing, but it all depends on the guitar. I have a 2nd Degree Black Belt in the bridge of my Heritage 150CM and it is an awesome pickup for classic and hard rock!!!

Another one you may like is the Manlius Asphalt. They retain the openness of the RY with the a nice low end. And they actually are not as compressed as you would think being around 16K and retain that PAF vibe. Kind of like a Nailbomb.

For the clips on their website, they do sound fairly similar. The RY has a little more saturation/bite and the VHII still retains more of a PAF vibe.

I just need unlimited funds and then I can settle this debate.

Ι had the VHII in the bridge of my charvel star for years...
Great pickup with that vintage PAF kerrang..
If your amp can give you a good amount of distortion it could be a nice choice...
For a LP I would prefer the Black dog or the riff raff

I'm using a 71' SLP with the BE mod. I have tons of gain on tap but when I switched back to the Godwood, it just wouldn't cut it for me anymore. I like how the RY is open and resonant. It makes me focus way more on my pick attack and muting.

I am using about the same amp...
My tech's version of BE(only BE and 3 gain stages,no HBE).
For classic metal I needed something gainier than the VHII...
I settled to EMG 81 because of Accept's guitarist Wolf Hoffman...

The VHII is a very dry pickup that responds to your playing,the tone when using gain reminds me of some early racer X-paul gilbert type of tones.
I haven't played the GW to compare it but it is one of the most touch sensitive pickups I have used,and trust me they are plenty(VHII was my forth BK pickup in that guitar)
